Magma's got power up the wazoo, and Aqua's riddled with inflicting Special Conditions.
But what's the use of inflicting Special Conditions when you're dead?
Anyone else agree that the balance between Team Magma and Team Aqua is anything but? Comments welcome.

I'm seriously hoping that you meant for that to be so funny. :p
Team Aqua got Walrein (a massive beatstick), and Archie to pull it out of the deck as a basic.
Team Magma got Claydol (it's fun, but it could be a good deal better), and Maxie (though you have to have the pokemon in your hand or discard).
I would also like to point out the technical machines:
Aqua, you can choose any special condition you want (even Paralysis).
Magma, You can put an energy back in the deck.
Let's not forget about Kyogre and Groudon (I hope I don't have to explain this one :D ).
Aqua got some of the best special condition inducers in the game, along with one of the biggest beatsticks ever.
Magma got a bunch of sub-par basics and stage 1's.
Aside from the stadiums, I don't see any real advantage to Magma (unless you're talking about a different Magma vs. Aqua).
I do not mean to offend with this post (but I would like to know exactly how Magma got so much more).

Team Magma's Aggron can kill Walrein in one shot if you discard an Energy (the reverse is also true, so I guess this is a moot point).
Both of the Claydol are good. If you've got two Fighting ones, you can spend one's life doing nothing but Clay Curse (or at least until the Bench is damaged to your liking), and then Clay Pulse with the other one (or the first if it's still alive) and destroy the opponent's Bench.
As for the Psychic one, Magma Switch is limited (Aqua wins here, I'm afraid, with Manectric's Power Shift), and the use of Schemer can help ensure Dark Hand will always do 60 damage.
The holo Magma's Houndoom blows, so I'm not going to go there.
The other one is quite nice. After Clay Cursing the bench up, Damage Burn is almost guaranteed to do 60. If not, Target Scorch will do the job of getting those damage counters on, and a single Potion won't save them from taking 60 next turn.
Confusion is easily remedied by Retreating, and Sleep will be removed half the time anyway, so the only one you can rely on is Poison, and that's easily taken away as well.
Team Aqua's Pokemon rely heavily on Special Conditions to inflict big damage. Team Magma can do it anyway. And if you're dead, you can't inflict Special Conditions.

The whole Team Aqua/ Team Magma decks on the whole are not exactly top tier decks. They are also very limited in what Pokemon you can use as there are only the Pokemon in Team Magma/ Team Aqua. There will probably not be any new Team Aqua/Magma Pokemon made.
As for strength, I prefer Walrein because the energy is returned to your hand, rather than being discarded. :D

Of course not, but if you pit one against the other, Team Magma will emerge victorious most of the time.

Aqua pretty much has better Trainers, but Magma has some awesome Pokémon. The best 3 are:
-Groudon
-Zangoose
-Claydol (P)
Claydol IMO is better than Manectric because he can switch Darkness energy around. Awesome. Plus, Claydol's attack is better IMO.
Team Aqua's Walrein is a great card. But he's best used with Blastoise. (And Eco Gym, nyah!)
As for the others, Aqua's are better than Magma's except for the 3 above.
And, what is the Kyogre/Groudon deal.
Because Groudon walks all over Kyogre...
-Kooper, 99.999999% sure of that...
