2. Order of the Phoenix
3. Sorcerer's/Philosophers Stone
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Chamber of Secrets

Weird choice.. I thought PoA was the worst done. I'd have to go:

1. Sorcerer's Stone
2. Order of the Phoenix
3. Chamber of Secrets
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Prisoner of Azkaban

I think this is because PoA was my favorite book (so far) when the movie came out and it let me down. To me, Sorcerer's Stone was the most accurate/well done movie. It was nearly word for word from the book which I thoroughly enjoyed. Snape, Harry, McGonagall, Hermione, Dumbledore, Draco, and Ron were exactly as I pictured them. Moody was done so poorly in my opinion. He was supposed to look like "carved wood" with all of his scars. Instead he looked like an old, fat man with a retarded strap-on eyeball. Fleur was a let-down as well. She was attractive, yeah, but she didn't do the Fleur from the book any justice.

Sorcerer's stone.
Out of the two I watched [Incidentally 1 & 2, I gave up hope after that] it was the most faithful to the books out of the two.

This is how I rank the movies, even though they don't all go by the books, except the first one did like you all said.

1. Order of the Phoenix
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Chamber of Secrets
4. Sorcerer's Stone
5. Prisoner of Azakan

I hardly ever watch the 3rd one anymore. Only because it ticks me off on how much they left out of POA. Sure they've done them to all besides SS, but damn... it was just awful. I'll only watch it if someone picks it out of the movie collection we have here.

what ootf left so much out most importantily sirus's mirror it played a majoir role in deathly hallows and they failed to show harrys desparation after sirus
died. gof fire also left out the return of dobby which also plays an important role in the new movies
1.sorcers stone
2.goblet of fire
3.chamber of secrets
4.prisoner of askabain
5.oder of the pheonix:mad:

1. Order of the Phoenix
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Sorcerer's Stone/Chamber of Secrets
4. Prisoner of Azkaban

OotP was my favorite as it finally got darker with the story and brought some solid story telling to the series.

They're all horrible adaptations aimed at making summer blockbusters for little kids and failing at even that.

The first one was the least bad. The rest are just too horribad.

Goblet of Fire, I thought it was the only one that thrilled me, due to the tasks.

It was the first one that I actually liked. Then following that, the 5th one was actually alright.

1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Sorcerer's/Philosophers Stone
3. Chamber of Secrets
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Order of the Phoenix

My list seems to be the opposite of everyone else. I just didn't like OotP for some reason. I loved the PoA (never read the book).

Well, I sure hope HBP will be good. My family doesn't want to be in a huge crowd, so I'm going tomorrow... Unless it's sold out. ;P

Oh, and on topic:

1) Philosopher's Stone

2) Chamber of Secrets

3) Goblet of Fire

4) Order of the Phoenix

5) Prisoner of Azkaban

Reasoning:

1) Has the sense of originality and "wonder." Being the first movie, I've always felt it really portrayed the world of HP best. Also my favorite HP book.

2) Second favorite of the series in film and book. I liked the storyline a lot, and the movie again seemed to capture everything well.

3) Well, after Azkaban (which I hated, film-wise), this decent movie seemed to be glowing. However, I still disliked the portrayal of Moody's eye, some of the challenges, and the graveyard scene. Loved the book, though, so the storyline alone brings Goblet up to third.

4) Hated the book. Long and (IMO) boring. Seemed to drag on to me, and the film reflected that... The good parts just didn't seem so great in picture, either.

5) I could ramble on about why I despise this movie, but most of it would just be bitterness and a bit of nostalgia-based bias. For one, I hated that Harry and co. no longer wore school robes. Since when did Hogwarts have jeans in its dress code? The dementors were horribly portrayed (I must note that this probably is because they didn't seem at all like how I imagined- more bias). I wasn't too fond of the storyline, but it was decent... except for the Time-Turners. Rowling is a great writer, but even she couldn't properly handle the paradoxes of time. Oh, and "It's magic!" isn't a valid excuse. =P

I didn't like the sixth movie at all. The humor was really good, but the film overall didn't do justice to the book. Sometimes the script and new plotlines seemed pretty random and off-place. I don't think any of the movies are substitutes for the books, but this one was particularly bad.

I adored the scene with the inferni. It was insanely well done. Dumbledore looked amazing and heroic, and right before he died.

However, the rest was completely meh. The Slughorn character was good, but what about the new Minister of Magic? What is that flying spell the Death Eaters use? What about the rest of the quiditch cup?

Also, where was the emotion in the death scene? Come on. Where was the story behind the ring? Where were the other memories? When did they tell Ron that he never had the potion? Where did Harry learn to use the Bezoar? All of these things were key in the book, but didn't make the "cut".

They could've skipped a lot of the humor and love drama and added a lot of these scenes. Or split the movie. Or just not have made it.

This seems cold, but I hate the new actor for Dumbledore. I know that he's not "new" anymore, but the old actor was so perfect for the role. Every time I read the books, it's the first actors voice I here. This Dumbledore sounds so cold when he speaks, it reminds me of Snape.

Two SMALL things would have made me like this movie a lot more.

A) More emotion in the tower death seen. In the book it was drawn out and Dumbledore was begging, and the decision was NOT instant for Snape.

B) When Harry was "dueling" with Snape, I wish that he would've tried the Unforgivable Curses again. These are essential to show how much hatred Harry had. Instead he tried.... Sectumsempra? Was he merciful? Or just dumb. In the book he tried Crucio which showed how much hate was held by Harry.

Technically he did use Sectumsempra in the book, but I know he used others, including other curses from Snape's textbook.

My biggest wtf complaint was [spoilers ahead]the scene at the Burrow with the Death Eaters. I mean, how random?[end spoilers]

Yes. Not only did the Burrow burn down... but they NEVER explained what happened afterward. Seriously, where do they live? Well, we'll never find out I guess.

By the way, he uses Crucio twice in the book against Snape. I've always liked it when Harry attempted the unforgivables, and nearly crapped myself when he used the Imperious Curse over and over in the Deathly Hallows. Pure epic. And, yes, he did use the one other curse from Snape's book, Levicorpus. But for some reason Looney already knew that one in the fifth movie. Pathetic what they do to these.

Honestly, though, how can the Death Eaters fly? Only Snape and Voldemort were able to, yet in this book they all can. Even Fenris, for effs sake.

Every hour after watching this movie I hate it more. Not only is it a bad interpretation of the book, but it's a bad movie all together.

I'd have to say that the latest one was probably my favorite as a film. I love all the darkness surrounding "...The Half-Blood Prince" and it also managed to portray a good deal of comedy. Even though they did leave out quite a bit...they're trying to tailor to an audience, what can you do?

Though nothing can really top the excitement of the first Harry Potter movie.

He gave himself that name, because he was a Half-Blood, and his mother's maiden name was Prince.
