First off, sorry; there are no cards in this thread. Yet. But there might be.
This was just something I was thinking about on the walk home from work yesterday; there's the phrase "Matter of Fact" and there's also the phrase "Matter of Honour." The first one sounds kinda blue, the second one sounds white. Are there three more phrases to round out the cycle?
I figure "Matter of Pride" could be a green member if it did something involving cat tokens. There's also "Matter of Principle" but that sounds rather white too, it doesn't fit red or black. "A matter of" can be applied to just about anything but I'm looking for full, commonplace phrases to stick on this hypothetical card cycle.
Speaking of which, any idea of what kinds of spells would have names like these?

I don't know about new names, but maybe matter of honor could be something like...
Matter of Honor - 1WW
enchantment
No more than one creature can attack each combat.
No more than one creature can block each combat.
I was thinking an arena honor battle sort of thing

I like "Matter of Time" for either Blue or perhaps Black.
Matter of Time (no mana cost)
Sorcery
Matter of Time is black.
You win the game.
Suspend 20 B
Maybe too obvious, and likely broken. That idea, though.

Actually, yeah, Matter of Time is really good. And it's really blue. But I also like Matter of Fact...
Maybe Time, Fact and Principle could be a vertical blue cycle instead of a horizontal five-colour cycle.
Matter of Principle 3U
Instant (common)
Matter of Principle costs 1 less to play for each blue instant card in your graveyard.
Counter target spell unless its controller pays 2.
"Because I didn't say you could."
Matter of Fact 5UU
Instant (uncommon)
Matter of Fact costs 1 less to play for each blue instant in your graveyard.
Draw two cards.
"Because I already know it."
Matter of Time 10UUU
Instant (rare)
Matter of Time costs 1 less to play for each blue instant in your graveyard.
Take an additional turn after this one.
"Because it's going to happen anyway."

Those all could easily cost one or even two less. 2U, 4UU, and 7UUU all seem fair, and the latter two can even be one cheaper if you make them sorceries. If you're permission and you have ten blue instants in your graveyard, you've already won.
"Counter target spell unless its controller pays 1 for each blue instant in your graveyard" and "Draw cards equal to the number of blue instant cards in your graveyard" would be fair for cheaper as well. You can compare the first one to Mana Leak or Rune Snag to gauge playability, and the second to Tidings (which would cost 1 more as an instant). It would be ideal if they were crappy (but not too crappy) early, on the curve midgame, and really good late.
Matter of Time would be interesting as "Take an extra turn after the next one." It'd have to be a sorcery though.
