A World Of Darkness(Yu-Gi-Oh Fanfic) Prologue
Note: This prologue occurs in battle city. Events in it do not intentionally reflect the events in the show. I do not in any way, shape, or form own Yu-Gi-Oh, its characters or anything else related to Yu-Gi-Oh.
Battle City Finals, Marik vs. Yugi Moto
“Pharaoh do you agree to a duel here without the Egyptian gods?”
“It is Agreed Marik. With or without the God Cards I shall prevail.”
Duel Start
Yugi 4000 Marik 4000
“I shall go first, Pharaoh. I set a monster and lay one card face down.”
“My move Marik. I summon Gazelle the king of mythical beasts(1500/1200). Gazelle attack his monster.”
Marik’s monster disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
“It is time to take this duel to the shadow realm, Pharaoh.”
Marik held up his millennium rod and fog covered the dueling ground.
“Now I will make my move. I activate my face down card, Premature Burial reviving my Mad Dog of Darkness(1900/800).” Marik 3200 Yugi 4000 “I now summon Lord Poison (1500/1000). Mad dog attack his Gazelle.” Marik 3200 Yugi 3600 “Lord Poison, attack his life points directly.” Marik 3200 Yugi 2100
“Good move Marik, but not as good as mine. I summon Kuriboh (300/200) and set one card face down.”
“That’s pathetic Pharaoh. I think you’re delusional. That fuzz ball won’t protect you. Mad Dog, attack it.
“Not so fast Marik, I activate Multiply giving me thousands of Kuribohs.
“Fine Pharaoh. I set one card face down and end my turn.
“My Kuribohs will protect me, so I end my turn.”
“I hope you enjoyed your last turn as much as I did Pharaoh. It was quite enjoyable watching you do nothing on your last move ever. I activate Dark Designator. Put your Dark Magician into your hand.”
“Why, thank you Marik.”
“Don’t thank me, for now I activate exchange. I choose your Dark Magician.”
“Fine Marik I choose your Holding Legs.”
“I sacrifice my monsters for Dark Magician. How does it feel to have your favorite monster used against you? I now activate ultimate offering and pay 500 life points to summon Asura Priest.”
Marik 2700 Yugi 2100
“No not that.”
“Asura Priest, attack all his Kuribohs.”
The deafening screams of thousands of Kuribohs filled the dueling arena.
“Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.”
“ Dark Magician, finish your old master off with Dark Magic attack.”
“As Yami Yugi stared into the eyes of the Dark Magician he knew he was finished. He spent the last of his energy sending the spirit of Yugi away into a strangers body. He would arrive in one year.
As the Dark Magician’s Magic came closer to Yami Yugi, he blacked out.
Marik 2700 Yugi 0000
Duel End
“That was your last duel Pharaoh for now I send your mind to the shadow realm.”
Marik rose his Millennium rod high and with a flash of light, the body before him was an empty shell without a soul. Marik then took Yugi’s Puzzle and his God Cards. As the shadows around the dueling field dispersed, Marik laughed for he knew the world was about to be plunged into darkness.
