Could someone please clarify to me how exactly Sirius died? I hope they explain that arch thing better in the next books.

I sort of figured 'Book 5' would be enough for people not to look into it if they hadnt read it.

Sure, but some of us just hold the mouse over the Title to see a brief preview of the question and that right there would spoil it.

<Spoiler Alert>
Bellatrix casted a spell at Sirius and he fell through the archway in the part of the Department of Mysteries that studies death and the afterlife. No one is certain wether the spell itself or the archway killed Sirius. J.K. Rowling HAS hinted that Sirius will continue to play an important role in the books but is indeed DEAD. She has also hinted about the Graveyard next to the school.

Yea I know his cousin did it, but they didnt explain the whole arch thing, and why Harry was captivated by it. Luna said she heard the voices too, so I think, like the thestrals, it only affects those who have seen death.

The arch is also gonna be mentioned in Book 6.

So what would happen if someone was to just look behind the veil by pulling it back?? Would they be sucked in to death do you think??

No, there was no evidence of a vacuum. Harry was so close he would've probably stuck his hand in if not for Hermione or Ginny's or whatever's yelling at him to not.
