Male Only G/S Starters?

In the beginning, I captured a female Totodile at the exits of Phenac City. After I finished the game, I went after the other two starters, Cyndaquil and Chikorita. I tried to get the female variants of both, and I refought the Cyndaquil and Chikorita trainers again and again, but they were always male. Anyone experience this problem? Or is it builtin to Colosseum? I figure I'll have to start two whole new Colosseum game to get the other two.

theres an 88% chance of them being male(i belive) ur just getting unlucky

In PC, Espeon and Umbreon are always male, but from what I've seen others post, we can get a female of any other shadow pokemon---with patience.

The odds are different depending on the species. For the G/S starters it is probably something really low like 10% or 12% for a female, but they said we can get one if we just keep trying.

I've been thinking about re-playing PC just to get female starters but haven't done it yet.

I may restart the story mode for that reason. The ones that I got are mostly males (and the females are usually ones that are useful only for the Pokedex, like Skiploom)
