questions about Wifi random battles

I don't have this game yet, but I'm thinkin about gettin it.
I'm really confused about the random battles of wifi.
I know it allows you to battle random players all over the world, but I've seen some random wifi battles online and saw that each players can only choose 3 pokemon and they r all lv50
So my question is... can the random battle be like DS wifi battle which the battle is 6 pokemons against 6 pokemons and all r lv100?

random wifi battles are fixed to other 3 pokemon (in single battles) or 4 in double battles. all are LV50.

if you battle your friend via friend roster u can use 6
