[FNM] July: Wall of Roots

Wall of Roots will be the July FNM promo.

There are no scans to show yet.

How do you feel about this?

Its a solid card IMO, but I'm just not really hyped up about it. I mean, its an 0/5 wall :D

I mean, where could Wizards have gone wrong? They were on a roll with Remand, Crypt, Witness, and Tendrils. Now we get Pendelhaven, Resurrection, and Wall of Roots.

I'm going to assume they're delving into Timeshifted cards now. Next promo: Merieke Ri Berit? Nah, they're probably sticking to mono-colored and/or playable Timeshifted cards (well, not so much when it comes to Resurrection). Oh dear, is it time for yet another Disenchant promo?

its a good card and all but I dont think it was worth being made a promo for FNM. They could have did something better, or something worth while. I'd love to see Goyf as a Promo (not that that is ever going to happen lol but wishful thinking lol). but if they keep to the Timeshifted theme maybe they could do Akroma in August.

I love it. There is no Wall of Roots in the 8th edition card frame, so completists such as myself will trade highly for it. You might not want it, but guaranteed you'll be able to find someone to trade it to.

I've really liked the FNM promos this year, except for Resurrection. If they keep up the timeshifted theme, reasonable cards I'd like to see include Desert, Gemstone Mine, and Sacred Mesa. They really used up all the good ones already; Avalanche Riders has already been a promo (I'm pretty sure). Mystic Snake would be nice, but it's not a good promo card.

Atleast the art for it looks nifty, I might actually keep it if I win at FNM some time next month.

I think they've been going by what the card's rarity was originally, so no Akroma.

This looks nice, and would have been great even a year ago, but these days it's a little underwhelming. It really is starting to look like this year's early run of hits was a fluke.

I do dig the new flavour text.
