In that case just look at Bleach; it's an action/comedy/supernatural/adventure/drama. How can you possibly classify it as only 1 of these when all of them are apparent?

Your very first post didn't answer the topic question and while you brought what you thought was a point, you didn't care to back it up. I responded because I believed you were misinformed and now you're being dismissive about it all, which is another sign of your age (I was your age, too) AND your defeat in the argument.

You have a lot of misconceptions about genres, mate.
First, no single genre has to dominate a story/movie/whatever.
Secondly, just because you don't personally acknowledge a genre, doesn't mean it isn't objectively apparent in the story/movie/whatever. You don't see the humour, but I do, and a lot of others do also (just look at this topic [the first page, anyway =/]).

Bleach isn't all serious, it isn't all comedy or action or drama or whatever else it's comprised of. It's a collaboration of different genres to appease different audiences. Why do you think it's so damn popular?

Also about the relevance; You have yet to answer the topic question so you are in fact guilty of being off topic as well.

Speaking of, some funny moments I like in Bleach:
Pretty much every instance in which Ichigo bags Rukia for her drawing, and when Byakuya's drawing is revealed to be like Rukia's.
A lot of the omake chapters, particularly the one where Renji asks Byakuya if he uses Senbonzakura to cut his own hair, to which Byakuya replies with a smile.

As for the ongoing argument, Bleach isn't "comedy" in the sense that Azumanga Daioh, Excel Saga, or 2x2 = Shinobuden, etc. are comedies, but it has some moments which are trying very hard to be funny (and often succeeding). A good writer knows how to balance the serious times with the lighthearted ones, and Kubo does that masterfully, and has since the beginning of the series. Is Bleach only a comedy? No, of course not. Does Bleach have comedy? In abundance (which places it head and shoulders above DBZ, and gives it a big edge over Naruto - in my opinion).

It's not that I get a kick out of it (I enjoy arguments but I don't seek them out especially), rather that whenever someone makes a statement that I believe they should either rethink or elaborate on, I challenge that statement. In most cases it's not that I want to prove them wrong but rather I want them to prove themselves right. It's not so in this case, though.

Oh and I turn 19 in exactly one week from now. Biological maturaty is the only kind I associate with, and in terms of that I'm way ahead of you.

This isn't about whether or not Bleach is funny, it's about whether a story/movie/etc can be classified under more than a single genre. Now, I've given my side of the argument, so either tell me why you think it's invalid or admit that you're wrong. I know you're not stupid, and you may just be being stubborn about this (I know I am, but that's just me), but you are well and truly misinformed about genres and I will continue to respond until you realise this. I like to think of it as aggressive teaching, as much as that sounds like a cop out.

The best part about that is when Ichigo meets up with Inoue and Ichigo says "Oh you were also summoned? Why do you look so glum?" and Inoue replies "I was told I had no sense of humour". And then later they catch up with Chad and they see he also got the same message.

2) It's hard to tell someone their faults without them becoming defensive about it. I understand that so if you feel I've crossed the line that much I apologise. Can we please get over this issue now and move to the main argument?

The thing is, though, is that what you said and what you're telling us you're saying are two completely different things.

Had your first post been "I don't think Bleach is at all very funny" I wouldn't have replied to it. But what you actually said was "I don't think the show was meant to be a comedy", which is wrong, because it is (in part) a comedy. Rukia scolds Renji for conceiving such an idea but then Byakuya interjects and admits that that's exactly what happened, and that "it's part of my job". Rukia then asks if Byakuya truly did that for them and Byakuya assures that it was fine because time flew quickly while he was with Zaraki. Zaraki then turns around and gives the audience a big -yet slightly scary- grin.

At the end of Volume 23 Yachiru held a ladies soul reaper meeting to determine the ladies soul pager. There were several reatarted ideas but the final product ended up being by Yachiru.
