Ok I'm looking for an alternative to a fire pokemon. In my opinion fire pokemon are weak and it's factual that most fire pokemon have higher attack than special attack.... I want a fire pokemon for Fire moves so I was wondering is there any non-uber pokemon (special sweeper) that can make better use of a flamethrower than a fire type or should I stick with the fire type on my team? The fire type I have is a Ninetales and the summary is
Ninetales@Lum berry
Modest nature
Ev's: HP 129 SpA 252 SpD129 ( I don't like these EV's much)
Confuse Ray
Sunny Day
Grudge
Overheat
I'm not too satisfied with Ninetales preformance as it was meant to IHKO my opponent but lately it has been doing none of that >< and it's lasting power isn't great.... And yes it sucks more with Flamethrower so don't suggested that unless it's on a different pokemon....So um yes the help will be greatly appreciated.

Personally, the only fire pokemon I've considered is houndoom...
Houndoom~Petaya Berry
Modest-252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
-Crunch
-Flamethrower
-Solarbeam
-Sunny Day
Its special attack can get quite high (350). Plus, this set covers many types of pokes: psychic, ghost, grass, ice, bug, steel, water, rock, and ground. You should always make the ability flash fire and not early bird.
I seem to have a lot of success with it, so maybe you could test it over ninetales.
Well, if you don't like houndoom for some reason, another fire pokemon to consider would be blaziken.
Blaziken~White Herb
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Special Attack
-Overheat
-Sky Uppercut/Brick Break
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
Yes, blaziken's attack rating is higher than his special attack, but overheat should be the only special attack you need.

every poke game i always start ut with fire, if they are srong they can take out anything, almost, like brock for example, you can still defeat him if your char is strong enough, good damage too, but if you are not into fire,DON"T try water, it is vounerable to alot of things, ice, lightning, leaf, i suggest ice poke, they are pretty strong, also phyphic, if you have milotic and mewtwo in your party there is a hih chance you will never lose...

Charizard makes a great Belly Drummer, and if you don't mind using an uuber, Ho-Oh is great. I don't like Arcanine much b/c of his extremely limited movepool, although he does get Extremespeed :D . Ninetales is a good choice too. It all depends on personal preference.
