That wasn't the best Ness player I've seen, but wow that looks incredibly annoying to deal with. =/
Grab-spamming, eh? (That can't even really be called Chain grabbing)
That's annoying... But still only certain characters can keep grabbing that close anyways. So I'll just use my other mains in that situation, but wow this really sucks.

Ok, that guy needs to learn to play better...he keeps walking/jumping/falling into Marth's attacks...

Both of these players are terrible... I got worse by watching that video.

Heard about this recently; I feel kind of bad for the Ness/Lucas players.
Though they shouldn't be in grabbing range if they use projectiles effectively.
If I get a chance though, I _will_ exploit this exploit.

For those of you unaware of the current situation, Nessbounder has stated certain characters can grab Lucas and Ness in what is called a Release Grab, resulting in a severe disadvantage to them against a lot of characters. I am here to inform you that a lot of the information is false, and that Lucas is not doomed to be given the tier slap because of this.
Release Grab: Certain characters like Yoshi and Marth are capable of re-grabbing an opponent in place after being released from a grab without being thrown. Because certain characters have longer recovery animation when they break free from a grab, they are able to be re-grabbed again before they can defend, and damage is accumulated through attacks while being held in place.
NOTE: AGAINST NESS, THIS ONLY WORKS WITH THE FOLLOWING:
Marth, Squirtle, Charizard.
NOTE: AGAINST LUCAS, THIS ONLY WORKS WITH THE FOLLOWING:
Marth.
This DOES NOT work with Ivysaur, Bowser, DK, Wario, or Snake, like Nessbounder has stated.
I just tested this, and all it takes to get out of the ones that don't work is either DIing backwards, standard A combos, a simple spot dodge, or a combination of them. If you're relying on CPUs for your information, YOU WILL HAVE FALSE RESULTS.
That said, let's look at this is a reasonable manner. This works for essentially two characters on Ness: Marth, and PK Trainer, and only Marth can grab Lucas. So we have 3 characters, if you want to class Squirtle and Charizard seperately, able to infinitely grab 2, out of a cast of 39 characters total.
If you happen to be in a tournament setting and are stuck with this match up due to counter pick, it means that you have to avoid getting grabbed; something most melee veterans learned (and will STILL have to learn) to avoid well due to Ice Climbers alone. Not only that, but this does not mean the loss of a match, merely the loss of a stock provided the opponent can perform this properly and actually grab you. Most pros also main more than one character, so if a Marth is an opponet, or a PK Trainer as well in Ness's case, simply switch to another character.
I'm sorry to break this to everyone, but this won't be banned. King Dedede is far worse than this.

You won't son or I'll personally come to your house and...
*Reads the quote*
*Calms down*. If it's only Marth, I guess I'll manage.
However, when they grab you out of their blasted shields..
Anyways, I hope that, as that guy stated, it isn't as major as people have made it out to be.

I tried it out today. It's not that bad. I was able to do it a few times with Marth against a human Lucas at around 50%ish, but after a few times, he was able to jump out of it. Maybe I'm not grabbing fast enough or not doing it right entirely? I'm just grabbing then hitting Z repeatedly to hit them then when they break out I'll keep grabbing. But after maybe 3 or 4 times, they were able to jump out.

I've seen characters such as falco do something like this. His Spam grab is you grab them, quickly press down and he executes his grab attack. You only go an inch forward no matter how high your percentage is, and he can walk one or two steps to grab you again and so on and so on. It's happened to me before while I was fighting this one guy online. Link vs. Falco, I kill him once, he kills me once. After dodging my attack he executes that spam grab I explained to you, grabbing me 7 times, putting me at 90% (it was a little higher but I'd say this much) then, when I land, he uses a quick A forward for the kill. I tried everything to get out of it, nothing works. I was  the rest of the day.

This is a little different though. The breakout animation for Ness/Lucas is so long that they can't do anything about it other than hope they can jump out in that minuscule timeframe. For the Falco grab, I'm sure there are ways to get out easily like DIing for one. or teching. The Ness/Lucas thing is a little tougher, but luckily it only works with certain characters.

What is DIing? I'll have to try getting out of falco's spam grab again, because first time when I pressed any button, he wouldn't do anything. That Lucas/Ness spam grab from other characters stuff, yeah it does suck, but luckily you Lucas/Ness players won't see your main in a lower tier.

I don't see why they have something such as Tiers for Brawl anyways.

There aren't any tiers for Brawl yet.
DI means directional influence. Like when you get hit, and you jam the control stick in a certain direction to make you more likely to go that way.
If you're trying to get out of a grab, the best way is to mash all the buttons as fast as you can. Each button press lowers the grab time by a certain amount, or at least that is how I was told in Melee. And while you're mashing buttons, jam the stick in whatever direction you want to go in.

Because.. it's a competition game. And there's no perfect balance between the characters...
Therefore, they need to be classified.

Well, from what I gather, this IS what you're supposed to do. [Complex, huh?]
I haven't tried it myself against anything but CPUs, so I couldn't tell you. [I'll grab some of my friends to test it out once this damn math test's over...]

I could have sworn DI stood for Der Infinite (the latin phrase), unless there's more than one abbreviation for a mere 2 letters.:p
