No Prize, Just a friendly tourney, though if somehow could make a little sig or banner for the winner that would be cool...

Rules:
Win best of 3 matches to advance. Semifinals and Finals of any bracket are best of 5 rounds. Loser goes to.....well, loser bracket, lol
Play on the initial stages, then if they want, loser picks from stages mutually approved by the opponent. DOING A 'NO CONTEST', EXCEPT FOR A WRONG STAGE CHOICE, WILL BE COUNTED AS A LOSS.

Initial Stages:
FD, Battlefield, SmashVille, YoshiStory

Characters:
Any character, even switch characters within the same round match.

Make sure to PM, or contact your opponent through any other messaging service, and set up a match as soon as possible. Intend to show(on wifi) or be DQ'd. Normally I would make any issue about edgehogging, but its fair game during the tourney as well as any other tactic; just keep things polite when you post. Make sure to PM me with the results. You have 5 days to get your match in.

If the match rules are not met, make sure to quit before the match begins and restart correctly to avoid disputes. Concerning stage selection, since the game may not allow you to "no contest", warn your Opp with a taunt like "Wrong Stage" then drop and try again. Above all, Happy Brawling....:)

Additional: Okay seems I was not clear, my mistake really, lol. Initially I was thinking that the winner bracket winner receives another chance, but having the championship round be a possible redo seemed well lame, instead of keeping it at best of 5; in my last update I made it best of 7, which seems long enough to allow the better player to win. Further Penta was like, "I won't need a redo..." Lol. That should clear it up, besides its my rules, I could just DQ everyone and make me the winner.

and because of the temptation to only pick Final Destination, I might ban that as well, but its up for discussion.

I don't think Final Destination is a problem, personally. If you want a battle as straightforward as can be with nothing getting in the way of the player's skill, any neutral stage is fine.

OOO something funny shift.... In a Wifi match I was Ike. Fighting Pit, Link, and Kirby. These guys kept spamming their moves over and over again. Well it went into SSD between me and Pit. Pit spammed Light Arrows on me. But this moron knocked me up in the air and came after me. Lets just say Quick Draw FTW. I can imagine this idiot throwing his controller in a hissyfit

Well, for a majority of the matches, I don't mind either way which stages are picked, unless they are Rumble Falls, Summit or 75 m. We aren't really competing for anything substantial, so it's ok if people want to play on fun stages.

Yeah, you got that right. Training to avoid spamming or prevent spamming is a must.

Final Destination isn't fair for all.

Certain characters like Pit, Snake, and Wolf are advantageous on FD, while other characters like Sonic, PK Trainer, and DK are at a disadvantage.

Not saying that disqualifies it but to say it's a fair stage is far from the truth.

I can play, but I prefer either FD or Battlefield; if one doesn't like a flat surface, than why not Battlefield? You could still do projectiles but you can avoid them by jumping, and there's plenty of room for attacks and such.

Well I really test my skill as IKE vs. Projectile users like PIT, Snake, Fox, Link. I will be in your face. That's how I win. As far as spamming. I spam Ike's Quick Draw as a recovery move.

I still think we can make this work.

When two opponents are picked, those people have, say, three days to battle or the one who is more active gets the win. Picking a stage is a bit trickier. I hope that we could possibly decide on one universal stage to play on. Smashville is pretty good as it's smaller than Final Destination AND has a moving platform. =D

Wofly, Majora's Mask was such a headache, not the game but the memory Pak, it used to overheat and the game would freeze. I played the whole game, but could never beat Majora's third form because of it....sigh.

It ain't me! By the way, this is double elimination, right? So, when you lose a round, you go to the losers bracket.

So, the losers brackets starts at zero, then gets 8 people. 4 of those people lose, while 4 new ones are added who lose round 2 in the main bracket. So, back to 8 people. Go down to 4 again, then add 2 more to it. 3 are left after the next round, which goes to four for the person who loses in the finals of the main bracket. Then, you do two more matches for the winner of the losers bracket, who then plays the main bracket winner? Is that how you are running it?

Anyway, where are ya Ice_ghs?!?! I'm itching for another victim....or maybe to be victimized! :rolleyes:

Wow, usually among 3v3 or 4way its always available. I never had to restart in tourney matches so I did not realize the game drops the two people. Maybe changing a taunt to say "Wrong Stage - restart" is better to tell your opp and drop the match. I will make a note of it in the rules...thx for the heads up..
