game saves....?

i wanted to know how to use game saves with AR. can i save my current pokemon game on the AR computer thingy then start a new game and later play my old game using the save?

No, sorry.... If I remember correctly, the Action replay pulls a certain amount of memory from the cartridge and saves it to a file. The problem with this is that the Pokemon games have a higher sized save file so that means that the action replay won't pull all the information, thus you are screwed if you try to load it backup. If there was a way you could tweak the AR to allow a higher size to be extracted then it would work.
Edit- This applies if you are using an actual GBA and not VBA
