Question about Legality

O.K. I have read that the old Pokemon cards from the old sets like Jungle and all those, you know the ones that first came out, I heard that they are now illegal in tournaments and i got upset because i collected and worked so hard for those when i was younger and I have gotten great, and rare cards. Fiinding out that all I worked hard for is now illegal in Official play mades me mad, sad, and very upset. IF this is true can someone please confirm it and if not then confirm that as well, I would also like to start a discussion.

Well, yes and no.

They are legal for League play and unlimited tournament.
However, for Modified tournaments, which is what the premeire events like City Championships and Regional Championships are, only newer sets are legal.

oh thats cool im not upset. thx for the info but um what exactly are modified tournaments, i may sound dumb but im just starting to get into pokemon tcg again

Modified means that you can only play by a certain set or on. This year is Holon Phantoms up to Majestic Dawn.
