Rules for Posting! - MTG Deck Discussion (Revised on 10/05/04)
-Pojo’s Message Board Rules.
-Please refrain from bumping your topics. It wastes board resources. If you do not get a reply to your thread (read after a while: a week) you may start another topic.
-No Bashing another person’s deck, no matter how bad it is. Constructive cristism is welcome, blanant flaming is not. Mods reserve the right to edit for flaming, flamebaiting, and on extreme cases, grammar.
-"Make me a deck" threads are not allowed. If you're not sure what goes in your deck, it's ok, but you really have to do SOME research. No research is pure laziness. There are plenty of resources available for you to get cards in your deck. Someone can always fix a deck, but when there's nothing, it's much harder to do anything. (We do have a little function called the SEARCH button which allows you to find decks in this forum if you really have no clue how to build a deck. )
All "make-me-a-deck" threads will be locked/deleted. If you are not sure what a specific archetype is, post it in Gossip.
-Let viewers know your deck in your title. Saying "please help" isn’t helpful. A good title would include the archetype and the format. (Ex. Type 1 Sligh).
-Let your decklist be easy to read. It helps people look at your deck.
Sample decklist:
4 Creature
4 Creature
4 Creature
1 Creature
4 Non Creature Spell (Instant/Sorcery/Enchantment/Artifact)
4 Non Creature Spell
4 Non Creature Spell
3 Non Creature Spell
4 Non Creature Spell
4 Non Creature Spell
2 Non Creature Spell
1 Non Creature Spell
1 Non Creature Spell
4 NB Land
10 Basic Land
10 Basic Land
Sideboard (15)
(* - List your sideboard in no particular order here.)
Be sure to also include a description as well. This is simple etiquette. The numbers line up, so the first thing that is seen is how many of a card you’re playing. There’s less hunting for amounts, and it’s the least confusing layout. Please, please, PLEASE use it and make life easy on us all.
-Explain the contents of your deck, how the major cards interact, and what the goal of the deck is. Posting how well the deck did in playtesting is helpful, but not required.
-Make sure your deck is legal in the format you list it in. Actually, tell the viewers what format your deck is in. It will help them immensly in deciding what cards to put in/take out. (If you do not know what format your deck is legal in, just say casual.)
-Unless you have permission from an administrator, no deck garages.
-Do not TYPE IN ALL CAPS and do not TyPe LiKe ThIs BeCaUsE iT's ReAlLy AnNoYiNg.
That's all for now. Most importantly of all, have fun!
