A year ago, a player at my local shop was volunteering at he shop. Packs began to vanish & this player seemed to get a growing binder. Although nothing could be proven, the store owner banned him from the shop.

Recently, that same player has resurfaced with his own tournament. The "Pro League".

You may have all known an epic noob, but this one tops all of them. He's begun organizing tournaments himself, saying he worked for UDE & they will make special packs for the tournaments he's holding.

You should NEVER pay to learn how to play. The best way to get better is to play with better players on a consistent basis. Start with your locals, then start asking for practice games with local good players around the area during larger events. When you get to bigger events, don't be afraid to ask for practice matches against "big names". I did this at the Magic Grand Prix tournament back in August, I got in a number of practice games with professional (read: Paid and actual "Magic Celebrities") Japanese and European players and was able to learn quite a bit from them.

What can I say, $180.00 for a year's worth of dueling instruction from the best teachers out there. I signed up immediately, who could pass up such an offer? 24/7 too. My life is now complete because I can get dueling tips at 3:30 AM on Christmas Day.

Doesn't work that way, anyone can buy/resell product. People do it all the time on eBay, other card game forums I go on, and I know some people who just lug around luggage to hold their cards/packs. Unless he's resealing product or scaling his product and selling it as like brand-new, you really can't get him for anything. Even if he is scaling/selling that way, you still don't have much to pin him down.

You have to hit him on his "Duel School" crap. The best way to do this is to first check if his LLC is indeed valid, and if he's even legally allowed to make up contracts like that. The second thing would be to find every loophole in that "contract" of his and exploit it to your advantage and call him out for fraud if he doesn't honor what you exploit (especially if his contract doesn't state that he can change them at any time).

It would affect how others thought about playing the game. If there is a person who wanted to make a fake business, then that negatively implies that this is a bad game. Then parents wouldn't want their kids playing in a negative environment. I know that I wouldn't. If I was upperdeck, then I would lay the banhammer on this person and I would try to get them in as much trouble as you can.

It will NOT affect Upper Deck in any large way at all, at least not in a big enough way for them to care.

If you think about it, it's just like someone running tournaments out of their home and they're just trying to get more publicity out of it. They don't have the millions of dollars to advertise internationally, and are confined to one small county (not even an entire STATE).

Guess what? Nobody ever attended his tourneys anymore after he made that "contract". He ended up having a fight with the card shop owner, who refused to keep his store open after business hours on weekends for nobody to show up & buy cards.

Welcome to your first step into the world of the Professional Dueling!
You were accepted as a great duelist, by one of our many talented recruiters, to join other great duelists in a race to become the best duelist in the world!
This contract will explain the rules of a Professional Duelist and the guidelines that they must follow. This contract also explains how the pay is handed out and how you earn more cash by the amount of fans show up to your matches. The winner of the duel will receive 80% of the "pot" and the loser will 20% of the "pot." So figure it this way, out of $1000, the winner will receive $800 and the loser will win $200! Remember, this is only one duel and at half of the original amount of lifepoints. Professional Duelists will also get a percentage of the ticket sales, 10% , this will be split between both duelists.
Professional Duelists are also required to have a manager one week prior to their first match and must always have a manager prior every match. The Manager must be licensed and trained by Duel School LLC and/or other affiliates before they can be assigned to a duelist.
Before you sign any part of this contract, please keep in mind that you must attend at least 1 match a month or else you will receive a warning and game loss. If you receive a third warning it will result in an immediate termination of this contract!

4. You may not use any form of cursing, rude and/or derogatory comments, rude and/or derogatory gestures, or any unsightly behavior in and/or around any official Pro League mathes. Keep it to yourself at all times! A little trash talk is ok, but don't take it overboard!
5. You must maintain a respectful atmosphere at all times.
6. You must always be respectful to your opponent.
