I know alot of you hate yugioh wikia but get this

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Trivia:Armament_of_the_Lethal_Lords

"On December 29th 2007, this card(Armament of the Lethal Lords)sold on eBay for $1,200,000, making it the most expensive Yu-Gi-Oh card ever sold on eBay." -- NOTE: This is not accurate. The card did not in fact sell for this amount, if it sold at all.

$1,200,000 Darn does that mean those who got these and cards like it are worth about as much?If not more lolz i`m on a Illegal card spree. And mostly about match winners.XP

The card didn't sell for that. The person who had it listed for that much was just doing it to advertise their eBay listings and store.

The World Championship cards usually go for about nine thousand dollars onsite after the tournament, though I know a couple of the European players have sold theirs for as much as twelve thousand. I'd imagine several less publicized sales are far lower.

Did you actually check the eBay link? I can't find any proof that the card was actually sold. You'll notice that no buyer is listed, and the listing says this:

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

I wouldn't call that proof that the card sold for 1.2 million dollars; not at all. For that reason, I'm editing the page to reflect that. Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia is a decent source some of the time, but since it's user-edited there are numerous mistakes and errors (this is obviously not the first one I've seen).

And anyway, there's no reason for any (sane) person to spend so much on a card that can't be used in tournament play, which further proves that the card did NOT sell for that price.

the stein was always a "non purchased" thingy and re sold for 7000$, i'd pay that if i knew the Stein OTK back then cause it'd get me like 2 other and it'll actullay be going for 30 000 and i sell it a month b4 the banlist so the ppl who bought it will wet them selfs for spending that much on a baned card,

Wikipedia is NOT a valid source of info, get over that fact. Not even the godlike one-of-a-kind Cyber Stein sold for the first final bid of $22,000.

This is completely off-topic, but there are actually quite a few people in the U.S. alone that could afford to buy a card for the 'paltry' (I'm using the term ironically, in case you're wondering ;) ) sum of $1.2 million:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_billionaires_%282007%29

I couldn't find a list of people that were "only" millionaires, so the above list will have to do.

Of course, just because all of those people could afford to buy a card at that price doesn't by any stretch of the imagination mean that they would actually do so.

I agree, I actually got points taken away from my coursework because I listed it as a source.

Whether it sold for $1 million, or $1 thousand, you have to be crazy when you pay that much for a piece of shiny cardboard (then you have no idea how the future will affect it). Hell, $1 K could've bought 4 Wii's....and a Brawl game.

i wouldnt spend anything over 40$ on a card, if i had that much cash. the most ive ever spend? 25$.

in either case- it didnt sell that much, it was up for bid for that much, and no one bought it.

Yu-Gi-Oh is definitely a rich man's game.

Face it: it costs a couple hundred to make an ideal CC/tournament-playable deck, then you add the tournament fees in order to qualify for the Championships, then airfare for those who don't live in the state or region where the Championships take place (unless it's prepaid, I don't know how it works).

That all adds up to: too much for me to count at the moment (unless travel costs are already paid for).

But even the cards in MTG are only worth the most after they just come out. Then they loose their value.

you can't play it. it's illegal in santioned tournys.

Mr.Yugioh

I think it is not. Even though to get good cards, it may cost a $5 entry fee, it is worth it when you win tournaments and judge to get free cards.

wow you guys are pretty ignorant.

SJC Stein's 23,000 auction was unpayed, then relisted.
The World Championship promo also did not sell for 1.2 million. It sold around 8-9,000 if i remember right.

Wikipedia is NOT a valid source of info

Quite true that Wikipedia is not a valid source of info, but you're missing some valuable points.

1) Wikia is not Wikipedia.

2) The sheer volume of traffic that Wikipedia gets automatically rules it out for anything to be taken seriously. Not the case with Wikia. The volume of edits actually makes for a reasonable Quality Control element.

3) I'll be the first to acknowledge that the Wikia is full of holes, but that's why the community exists, to plug the holes.

4) Given the sheer scope of information the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia has amassed, there will be mistakes simply by the law of averages. Same goes for mycards.de, who have several glitches in their displaying of cards and card lists.

5) As for the Article mentioned in the first post, I erased the paragraph in question.
