As the title says, what really got you going in Yugioh?

For me, it was my first top 8 in Edison, New Jersey back in January 07'. I made it to the top 4 and got my invite. Since then, I just keep winning.

Going to locals at Gaming ETC, and then realizing that my competition was full of members of the recently created team ETC much later despite me actually doing well.

I got hooked on it from watching the anime. Funny thing was, a friend of mine showed me an article about it in the paper, my first response to the show was, "That sounds stupid, it'll never last."

I thought the show was kinda cool, and the second I was told the TCG was coming out, I pre-ordered a couple decks. I'm proud to say I started to play as soon as the game came out :D

Yugioh Career?

Well I first met Yugi Moto and I lost a duel. So he made me learn how to play by letting me practice with Joey and Tristan. Kaiba came along and called me a scrub. So i challenged him to a duel. I beat him for half his company. He kept the name, because we didn't agree on the name change. In the end Yugi challenged me to a duel and I beat him. So i was a billionare from my company of mine. So i went to watch a WWE Show front row. HHH challenged me to a match of Yugioh in a Hell In a Cell, because i called him terrible at ygo, and as we all know it, ygo is very seirous business. At the end of the duel, he has a f/d, 1500, and 4 cards in hand. I activate Penality Game to force him not being able to activate his face down. HHH starts cursing and throws his enemy controller off the cell. I hit him with Hyper HammerHead For the win to become the KingOfKings and here I am Now.

I watched the anime and wanted to learn how to play the game. After that, its the thrill of making a deck (or decks) and going against other people's decks.

I had played a regional every once in a while, but the thing that really sparked it was shortly after I joined Pojo in 2005. Soon after, I made my first (and as of yet only) regional top 8, where I then won my next match and qualified for 2006 Nationals. It was from then on that I really started taking myself seriously and believing that I could win. Even though I haven't top 8ed again, I have been close, going X-2 quite a few times.

I remember watching the anime after Pokemon finished simply because I had some spare time before going to work on Saturday mornings. I hated it. I did not enjoy the anime one bit, but...I like to know things and the episode I had seen was incomplete. I watched the following week simply to get a sense of closure, but...that episode was incomplete as well!!! Needless to say, the anime has alot of incomplete episodes (Meaning most can't just be stand-alone episodes). My friend who had me watch it in the first place, bought a Yugi and Kaiba Starter Deck and began bragging how he was so good at the game (though he had never played anyone before except for the younger kids in his neighborhood). I am a highly competitive person. So I went out and bought a few boxes of booster packs just so I can beat him. Haven't stopped playing since. Eventually, what has kept me in the game are the friends I have made and my team (As a Player) and the desire to help out the gaming community as much as possible (As a Judge).

I learned how to play in order to get a job on the original Mall Tour. When the judge program was developed, I switched from playing to judging and I guess kept on moving forward. Don't regret giving up playing for an instant.

I've been playing since MRD, but I really mostly collected. I quit at DCR, started again at STON, and now I'm going to my first Regional, so I guess that's what sparked my Yu-gi-oh career.
