Now that I have that out of my system, I'm curious about how exactly the people who do provide "proof" find out about a lot of things. To be more succinct, how does the information flow in regard to future Yu-Gi-Oh! products, for both the TCG and OCG?
As it was said in another topic, Shriek and the like get their information for TCG products from information sent directly to retailers from UDE. I would imagine Konami does the same for the OCG. Also, I've noticed a lot of information has come from Japanese magazines as well before coming over here.
Are there insiders for Konami or UDE that speak to the press in any way about products long before release or does that stay mostly on the down low? Who knows what and when?

I get some of mine from the Email which gets sent out to TOs.
Also TO's get information off their suppliers.
Also Shonen Jump

I forgot about TO emails... And, well, in regard to Shonen Jump, information is hardly cutting edge by then. I was more referring to the first breaking news.

I'm going to be smiling at this subject line for days...
Anyways, info comes from a few places:
-TO E-Mailings
-Direct Retailer E-Mailings (sent to retailers who hold UDE Direct Accounts, ie, guys who can order stuff directly from UDE instead of going through a distributor)
-Shonen Jump E-Mail Newsblasts - SJ sends out newsletters that sometimes have breaking news
-Retailer solicits - these are sent out in hard copy to retailers - I'm not sure if you need to be a UDE Direct Account holder to get them
-Shonen Jump Magazine - specific card info often breaks first in SJ
Any individuals who get advanced info from UDE for work-related reasons (such as contractors) sign frightening Non-Disclosure Agreements and would never leak any info. That doesn't stop them from often having very strong hunches or opinions, though.
As an aside, in Japan, V-Jump Magazine (their Shonen Jump) tends to break a ton of news, because Shueisha likes it that way. It sells their magazines.

I think we should start a petition to change the title of every thread on this site to match the title of this thread, because it seems to apply a lot. :)

They love me! They really, really love me! *ahem*
That being said, one other thing I thought of was the fact that Konami is a corporation that sells shares. Though I doubt there'd be a specific mention of most things about particular cards in shareholder publications, would there ever be anything mentioning general recent or future Yu-Gi-Oh! products in these publications?

Nah, it's always stuff like "Non-electronic gaming division exceeded expectations by 3%".

I'm just glad we're getting any kind of info to trickle down to we, the common people. I'm happy.

Yeah subject title is supa mega monda truth. Bold is where I hear the news from but not first hand and by the time I hear it, enough people know and even before that people have already spouted a hundred rumors and by sheer dumb luck 1 of those rumors happens to hit a bulls-eye [in the latter case- said rumor starter is unbearably smug and considers themslef ca clairvoyant].
I wish to start a rumor that people who make those threads are going to purged, just to see them squirm, that or threaten that kittens will die and puppies will cry.

For the record the toy was there Yugioh card promotion.
