How to tell Diff. between Hobby and Retail

I was wondering if anyone knows how to tell the difference between a hobby box and a retail box, besides the fact that retails sell at target, walmart etc and hobby/local card shops, because I am not sure if some online stores sells hobby or retail and I think they lied to me cus i only got ULTS of rares not ultra or super and they told me it was hobby. My Local card shop dude told me there was a way by looking at the box or somthing, but i dont see one, besides maybe the barcode?

well from SOD to STON there was a difference but you pretty much just have to trust them to not lie

in FOTB you could get ults of anything in retail packs...and from TAEV up they discontinued ULTs of Rares

The only way to be sure is the bar code on STON and earlier sets. With FOTB, TAEV and GLAS there is no hobby or retail. All the boxes are the same.

Earlier boxes were 36cnt retail and 24cnt hobby.
Less recent boxes where all were 24cnt boxes you would have to use the bar code method.
And now I don't think there are any different runs to differentiate, no?
