I have a few atcually.
I was having a bad day and this kid gave me his Dark Magican (he had like 5). I Still have it in my binder today!
One of my friends at my locals gave me his pack becuse he had all the cards in that set already.
When I was a newbie a guy at my locals gave me a Magican of Faith, Wall of reveling light, Prenumbral solder lady and a MST as a gift!
One nice thing I did-
I opened my backpack to get my snacks out and I found a random deck that didn't belong to me.(One of the parents must have thought it was mine since I had a similar deck box) I held the deck up and said WHO'S IS THIS?? Some kid came up to me panic stricken and got it back.

The father of a kid who plays near me locally gave me a Champion Pack Dark World Lightning totally free. That definitely was one of the coolest things anyone has done expecting nothing in return.

Call about people that are very nice but this is my story. Well, one day when went to a tourney when I was 9 i was the youngest there so I had to be protected by my dad (scary people!).I had made it to the fourth round but lost and felt like it was time to take my 2 packs and leave. But the card store owner was very nice and gave me a full box of PSV for the reason of "coming to every touranment and putting a smile on his face every saturday. I believe his name was Phil and the store is now closed though. Anyway thanks Phil!
As for something I did, my best friend at the tourney lost his due to someone stealing it so I let him borrow my Exodia Deck for the tourney. Fun story though in the 3rd round I faced him and lost 2-0 (bad draws) anyway he went on to win the tourney and to repay me he gave me 1/3 of the packs or 8 packs I don't remember what I got.

Yep i give away banned cards to the kids that play traditional, there's a scary fact in my local, the youngest is like 8 but the oldest is like 35 its weird.

I remember something nice I did. Both at 500 or so life and i activate ceasefire and he chains ring of destruction. At the time i didn't really know the rules so i thought i won and got the cash prize but then i learned about chains worked and the next day told the other guy i actually lost and gave him the prize instead. As for other stuff, in general tourneyments i used to go to everyone was very nice to me and i thank them for that. i wish there were more casual comic stores and hobby shops so i could meet more people that play this wonderful card game.

I was at locals and played an eight year old who could top eight. I was undefeated and was second so I let him win to place. I had to drop but my friend said the kid got third with his e-hero deck...I was like WTF.
About weird people....I went to my locals on a tuesday whih they used to have small tournies then. I ran into my friend and an old dude, they were the only two their (ROFL). I had my deck so played the old guy. He had a mirror match with Chimeratech OTK. He had 3x ult. chimeratech and all the cybers and support were ULt. This was when Chimeratech was $90.
I won and e got pissed and started to cry yelling that he wasted $1,000 to buy the new cards. I really pissed him off because I had one chimeratech and did not give him a chance to play any of his. Skill > Money.

I usually hook up younger players with some spare commons of good cards (mst, heavy storm, mof, call of the haunted, etc) and try to help build their deck. I remember when I first got into the game and had no idea how to build a successful deck. I try to help the younger players understand how that works

This was some time back, probably a year or two. There was a Regional is a week or so, and I went to my local shop. The owner helped me build my deck, and gave me some cards like Apprentice Magician.
I was at SJC Chicago, and I had no chance of making Top 16, I was against this 9 year old kid, and let him have the win.

There was this little 9-10 year old girl at a local had her deck stolen first day she showed up (she had good cards, sleeved and all) and me and my friend Paul went through our stuff, built an exact copy of the deck and gave it to her in case we couldn't get her deck back, but we did, and got the kid banned from like 4 shops (the owners take theft seriously, they believe if you steal once you'll do it again, so 0 tolerance)

I was at Toys R Us back in the Chaos days. Some grown man who hates ygo jacked my bag off the top of my car when I was unlocking the door and ran off. One of the men that ran the tournament saw it and knew all that I had in that bag. Went into his bag and gave me his Chaos deck and a lot of other cards until he got my stuff back. Two weeks later. I got all my stuff back with a lot of stuff I didn't have before and he decided to let me keep his cards as well.
one time a guy gave me 3 zaborgs as a gift cause i gave him advice on how to build up his dark world deck to make it competitive

I had my shiny folder out on the table, and around 100 commons i had got, the guy wanted me to trade my shining phoenix enforcer super, i looked through his deck. Spotted nothing, so i traded my Phoenix and 100 free commons for his wildheart. He was really pleased with himself, then he got his mum to come over to see what he had just traded.

This was when I just got back into the game after a break due to school and financial reason. This was sometime in August, Columbia Regionals in South Carolina.
I had used a gadget deck, a very good one for back then. by round seven I was 3-3 and I was dueling this guy with the standard Perfect Circle "kick your ass if you go against it if you dont run a Perfect Circle" Deck.
Lost first round.
Second round as soon as I used Snipe Hunter he asked if I was going to use the effect again.
Remember: I just game back, built a deck with a few o my friends who were still in the game, and went to a regionals.
Basicly he told me that Snipe Hunter could use his effect more than once, advice that led me to victory against his deck...once...got a crappy hand next duel and lost horrible.
So it was either that or the one time I made this guy laugh so hard during our duel he surrendered and gave me his mat.
Ah fun times......

I've given lots of cards away before. Recently actually at a Charlotte, NC event I was playing this little kid whose deck was just plain terrible. He had no good cards at all before, so I was being nice I gave him a Raida, 2x Crossouts, 2x Thestalos, Crystal Seer, a rare grand mole, and a HL kycoo to help him get started on a deck of some sort. He was very happy and wanted to give me a card in return but I said no.
I've given up my HL heavy storm and HL MST when they first came out to a little kid whose deck was short 40 cards and wasn't one of the best decks (looked like a started deck smacked together).

You wanna come to my locals sometime? But really though somebody had dropped there mat at the last Charlotte regs and I picked it up off the floor and asked this guy next to it was it his and he said no, so then I was just going to go up to the Judges table with it but the guy that just got done playing said it was his friends who was just over there a few seconds ago. So I gave it to him and he gave it to his friend.

Done to me:
Some older guys who play, parents and such, would have a card i want, and just give it to me if they don't see anything for trade. I insist they at least take something (I'm the type of guy who has to pay someone back if I get anything, especially of monetary value, for nothing) and they'll shake their head just said "whatever, just keep it."
When my friend's binder is stolen, I give my friend a $100 value book full of staple commons and good cards that allow him to nearly make a few decks (there was playsets of everything you could think of in commonized form), and I gave it to him despite the fact he still had a lot of stuff decked. Unfortunately Karma is a ***** to me so in return he still acts like a jerk and gets mad at me for stupid reasons. Even after he got his stuff back he has yet to thank me at all for hooking him up, and instead complains that I'm extremely stingy because I refuse to let him borrow cards.
I've done:
At a regional I was doing lousy at I find a deck box on the table. I check through it and find a t-deck in max rarity. **** was probably worth about $1,000 at the time at least. I find a judge and tell them I found it, and because I know how bad it would be to lose something like that if they could help me find the person. Luckily the judge knew the guy personally and they were friends and basically ran to get him. The guy comes up to me after the next round and thanks me, insisting I take something he has as a means of thanks for getting him his stuff back. I refuse a few times as I don't want anything, though he keeps insisting, but we eventually work it out.

The nicest thing someone has every done was when Devon Schwartz was at regs. He was playing this kid who was on the bubble and this was like his first regs. Devon beat him and the poor kid almost started to cry. So, Devon gave the kid the win. Luckly Devon still got in at 7th. What carma.
I helped a guy make a Magic the Gathering deck and he gave me a Mirror Force.

The kindest thing someone has done at a tourney for me would have been at Regionals.
My deck was just stolen, and I was able to replace everything except a Mirror Force, and the vendors wanted $35.00 [Usd] for theirs.
Unfortuently, I didn't have the money, but my opponent was kind enough to open up his binder, and lend me one for the rest of the day.

The kindest thing I've done for someone at a tourney was at my local.
This little kid new to the game just pulled a Cyber Dragon right when it came out.
Obviously, everyone was trying to get it off of him.
Seeing as little kids will be little kids, he accidently left it on the table.
My friend saw it, took it, and stuffed it behind another card in his binder.
After talking to him, I was able to get him to give it to the kid by saying, "Hey kid, you left this on the table".

Not many people know about this, so here goes.
When I went to my first regional many years back someone stole my Last Turn deck.
To my surprise, all of my friends took my deck list, went around and traded cards, came back 45mins later, and handed me my EXACT deck!
I was ever so happy. :)
I love my friends.
*They had quite the trouble finding the
3 Thunder Dragon

and a TP4 MORPHING JAR! It was still worth bout $250 back then.
I came in 5th if I remember correctly.

different times at regionals i've been in total control against people who didn't really know the game so instead of beating them silly i would take time to explain the specific rulings for cards ands show them my deck and why it was competitve and then show them how to make their deck better.
At my first regional in Marietta, I won my first round and then got seated at the top table for second round...the guy i was playing went on to top eight...i thought that the good players were kinda mean because i had some bad experiences meeting other people who did well...but this guy was really cool...he took time to talk to me about practicing and stuff...and he saw me across the room after the tournament and came up and talked to me and told me to keep working and i could do really well...it helped turn around some stereotypes i was building about yu gi oh players

You shouldn't really need an excuse to be nice but in the curent yu-gi-oh community it seems like there are more idiots who are incapable of watching there language while kids are around and who take the game far far far too seriously.
also in my local tournament I've I've won all my games in the swiss I scoop the last one sice I know I'm through anyway.

once , there was a young girl (about 8 or 7 not sure) her face was SO FREAKIN INNOCENT!!!!!
We were dueling (she had to go up against me) and SHE WAS GOOD!!!!
She got me down to 1000 and had that one card were you have to pay 500LP to play a card (?) and i had managed to get her to 3000.
I play Card destruction and topdeck Torrential,Secret BArrel x2, Ceasefire, and Winged Kuriboh and MST (dont ask) I activate MST destroy whatever the card was(?), set Torrentail,Secrets, and Ceasefire. I then summon Winged kuriboh , and attack for 300 (2700)
Her turn, she plays COH summons BEWD, plays PRemature, summons Breaker,
then i activate Torrential, chain with Secrets (she has 4 cards now) , then ceasefire.
Total damage =2800.
sadly she started crying... I started to feel bad, so i told her to wait until after the tourney.... I manage to get 4th place, and i gave her a couple packs and a few free holos. thats the nicest thing i ever did at a tourney

She sounds adorable... That was very nice of you. Alot of nice things were done by people in this thread. It does the heart good to see that.
Let us see... At my first and only Regional, I ended up playing this one boy with a cool fuzzy hat and a Gadget deck. He one either the first or second duel, so it was one-to-one. On the last match, he got me down decently, as I did to him. I was keeping track of his lifepoints on paper while I did some damage to him, and he thought he lost. However, I explained to him that he was still quite alive. We continued to play and I did some more damage later, and again he thought he lost, but again I tried to inform him that he was still alive. Luckily, I did win the match in the end anyways, and I was able to do it proudly.
Other than that, instead of crushing new or inexperienced players at tournaments, I put all my focus on teaching them different card effect, game mechanics, and strategies that they could use at the time. But, both of the things I do that I mentioned should always be done, for the betterment of the game and one's self.
The only kind things done to me of which I can think about are the good and sometimes amazing trades I have had. Even with those, though, I try to make sure they are as fair as possible for the other person.

Got bored waiting for a tourny to start so started chatting to people, asking about trades, etc.
Chatted to some 14ish girl and she was running a spellcaster deck. She really wanted a Magician's Valkyrie in my folders but had nothing I actually wanted, so after a second's thought I just gave her the card and told her I hoped she had a good day :)

probably the nicest thing anyone has done for me was in a regs at pittsburrg about 2 or 3 yrs ago when i was about 10 or 11 yrs old and i lost my deckbox.... well i was panicking and running around evrywhere with teary eyes asking evry1 hav u seen my deckbox?!! and then some1 i kinda knew told me he found my deckbox so i was reallly thankful to him thanx ackerman
when i was about 11 years old i had the worst regs i had in my life i was 1-3 at one point.... and this guy who i didnt know saw my head down just walking feeling somewhat depressed n asked me what happened n i told him im 1-3 n never hav done so bad b4 in my life.... so he said to keep his sacred phoenix of nephtys when it was worth $50 thanx whoever u wereee
Now as for thing ive done well ive found about 2 deckboxes and returned them both to the person whose it was both times at locals....
always give common cards i get for prizes to kids younger than myself
when my friend lost his deck n cards me and this other friend builtt him a deck

People have done many nice things for me over the years (scooping, helping me build decks, lending cards, pointing out mistakes, NOT rule sharking, free stuff like T-shirts .....), one reason to stay in yu-gi-oh = you meet nice people.
If playing against young kids, I at times let them win a game (sometimes a match) - my ego doesn't need the win, they're happy. Though only against NICE kids - there're many snotty know-it-alls who're better off not winning.
We often give away cards to player in need (within reason).
My son and I always help people build decks (and at times supply the missing card).
As for returning stuff you found, that's obvious. The example of the first poster is a weird one. YOUR parents take a deck by mistake and you return it. What else could you do ? Anything else would have been illegal. The moment the choice is between being nice and doing something criminal, it wouldn't make my list here. I'm sick and tired of people ripping other players off. You find something at a store, you return it to its owner or to the TO, simple. Whenever I find something I ask around first and there're ALWAYS people who say 'let's go outside and split up the stuff'. NO WAY.

When I see new faces in the B-A-M i go ... I'll give them free commons (kids not adults) and If they are making a deck. I'll assist then and help them trade for what they need. thus keeping vultures of their backs and they get what they want. Don't get me wrong.. I don't interfer but if htey ask me if it is a fair trade. I'll tell them the truth. Also when I swent to the Ston sneak. I went in 3 times to get 3 grandmasters. I was trading with this kid and his father. I really wanted my GM's but I traded one of for a common or two because he came late and they ran out of promos. Karma love good thrown out. I've had 6 go through my hand . Three in my deck. two sold on ebay (one being a secret rare) and one traded for united and 3 other holos. Do kindness to others and it comes back.

kindest thing someone's done at a tournament would be someone helping another kid clean up their cards when someone knocked the table spilling them on the ground. That's seriously the nicest thing I think I've seen.

One of my team mates scooped to me in a regionals round, 4th round. We were at table 1, both 4-0, so we were both doing good but we lost our next few and we both ended up at 4-3 I think. He had his invite already and I still needed mine so thats why he did that. I have another regionals coming up this weekend!! Hopefully I make top 8.

I was At A Hobby League Challenge, And Traded With A Really Cool Guy. Then, My Lift Arrived And I Left. Few Minutes After, I Discovered One Of His Box Full of Baboon, SCR And CP SR/UR In My Backpack, That I Grabbed Thinking It Was Mine. I Came Back To The Shop And I Gave Him Back His Cards. He Was ******* Happy That I Was An Honest Person :D Lol...
I Was Very Happy At Shonen Jump Montreal When Someone Wanted My ULT Chimeratech, Back In The Times That It Was Worthing A Lot. He Handed Me His Cards, And Let Me Take Anything That I Wanted. It Was Like Christmas.

One time, a kid and his father were ogling a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon at the local hobby shop. The father sighed as he told his son that he didn't have $20 to get the card. Upon remembering that I had a spare in my car, I grabbed it and handed it to the kid, who proceeded to thank me profusely. Of course, I'm certain that I earned the ire of the hobby shop--after all, I'd effectively cheated them out of $20.

Nicest thing done to me.... Was given a Mirror Force by my friend Cliff, an awesome deal on some Volcanic Rockets and hit on a hot mom in a Houston regional who hit back. Life is grand.

Best thing I've ever done was give help and cards to younger newer players.
Best thing anyone has done anything for me, was NOTHING. lol. O well.

once , there was a young girl (about 8 or 7 not sure) her face was SO FREAKIN INNOCENT!!!!!
How did you play both Card Destruction and Mystical Space Typhoon while Chain Energy was on the field?
I've found a couple deckboxes over time, some with good cards, some without. I've turned them all in without a second thought.
As far as something nice being done for me? Hmmm...well, I've gotten some pretty good prices on singles from dealers that I frequent because I give them the business.

Well what I've done is:
1. Give all of my extra commons to the TO for the local tournies to use in addition to prizes. Once I added the Jaden Structure deck since I bought 4 of them (That one w/ the holo Necroshade)
2. Give a lot of those Yugioh movie packs as prizes (A friend of mine gave me a box of them after the movie ended in theaters)
3. Gave this older teenager my UR Captain Gold and a few of the Elemental fusions because he got his deck stolen around October or so.
Basically, anyone that knows me knows that I like to give away cards or trade cheaply for one of their cards. :)
One nice thing that happened to me is that the old TO used to find cards I needed and give them to me since I helped her out with the tournies. Good times. Doing good nets a great return. :)

Can't really think of anything overly nice anyone has done for me, or anything I've done for others. I always try to help newer kids out with their decks after tournaments so they can be more competitive and have more fun if that counts, Haha.

Nice Yugioh players. Never thought I'd see the day.
There are local people around who play, but they play casually, and only for fun, whilst I'm probably the only player around them who actually plays competetively. With that said, I often hold the responsibility of not only correcting the rules for them, I also fix their Decks by actually taking cards from my collection and adding them to theirs Decks. Granted, I don't give them stuff like Card Troopers or anything really competetive (because really, I don't own many competetive cards niahaha...), but decent cards. I also offered all of my Warrior-based cards (except for Command Knight ;P) to a Duelist who lost his Warrior Deck.
For Christmas, I gave all of them cards, which mostly consisted of holos.
It's not much, but I like to help them out so that they have more fun.
However, I've yet to actually experience someone who'd perform such selfless deeds for me, but I'm not particularly waiting.

My friend, who's a huge collector, sometimes gives me cards that he thinks can help my decktype whenever the new packs come out.
I cannot tell you how much this has helped me.
