New Meta?

Because of all the other SD14 threads, I'm decided to make this thread on one subject only. In every single thread, I hear people saying that it will change the meta. I've even heard people say that people will quit because of this deck. I have also heard that this deckcan (with big adjustments) be the best deck ever. What's your opinion yu-gi-oh community?

A new meta will happen after phantom darkness, since march has our new ban list. We could see the structure deck released right on it's doorstep, stomping out some cards.

I don't mind my opponent having monarchs, i have bribes, solemns and rugs, i play monarchs now.

I think a huge amount is also going to ride on whether or not we get a mass released CCV and how the American meta will react to it.

nothing will change specifically due to this deck other than pcm running gaius over zaborg, this deck isn't metabreaking.

As for a change in the meta, it's more or less due to PTDN, the duelist packs, then a ban list the month after. February is going to be a poor month for competitive yugioh because nobody will know what's going on and just try all sorts of decks, sort of like november was. The meta will reestablish the first jump after march (which i think is another cali jump so pay attention to what's going over there the next couple months)

Raiza is still better than Gaius. Would you rather "ruin" your opponent's draw for a turn than removing a card from play? I would. Nothing will really change except Zaborg will now sit with Granmarg in the land of failed tyrants.

Riaza is deffinatly better then gaius but the 1000 infliction is a nice advantage
also we may see current dying decks rise bc if n00bs get there hands on 3 raiza 3 gaius then they may play different themes with a chance to possibly do better

I think Hivemind (pojo users) are blowing a lot of things out of the water yes gaius is good but there are simple enough ways around him Forced back,Pulling the rug. & solemn are all actually pretty easy to splash in most decks.

as far PTDN goes its pretty good but not OMFG Meta pwning good. The rainbow dragon OTK sounds like something to be worried about but like every other OTK people will easily fid a way around it.

Yes, The meta will likely change but no more then the current CCs teching cards the meta won't REALY change till march when we get a new ban list.

the meta wont change untill a a better deck type other than monerchs and with the dark monarch coming out in a starter deck or as a secret rare its not ganna change. and to ad to the there is a new light monarch that just came out in japan (here is the link to wiki) so i think its ganna be the same for a while

Hmmm. once again we pojoers over hype a SD. My opinion is that the dark monarch just isnt better than raiza, right now Raiza in the King , and the dark monarch is 2nd best

Gaius fits in well with the rest of PTDN, and Raiza will be as good as ever, but PC aint lookin' that good with Grinder and ***** on its way.

I only know of two of three new FTKs you're talking about, Necroface and Rainbow Dark Dragon, and what's the one?

On that note, Thestalos might see a rise in play to disturb all these FTKs.

It's also going to ruin the game more than anything (other than a horrendous banlist). It's either you win on first turn or having a high chance of losing later on. Has less skill than all other types of decks and sucks the fun out of all duels, makes the game "exiting", once said by an OTK user.

It isn't the greatest of course but it is possible to run a random Dark Calling in an [insert random number here] Gauge Monarch deck. No harm there and a nice way to get a quick beater on the field.

Set Stone Statue of the Aztecs/Destiny Hero - Defender, Ojama Trio, and Dangerous Summon - Reckless Creatures, set Mask of Restrict/Solemn if you want. During your opponent's turn, flip Trio and Reckless Creatures, and all 3 tokens attack your monster for MASSIVE DAMAGE.

Of course, it has it's weaknesses, but it still works as you only need 3 cards for the FTK to function, all of which being searchable...

My buddies were describing the next meta for me and it sounds abysmal... I may be taking a break until it's corrected. FTKs, OTKs, burn, whatever.... those metas are.... ewww....

I just wanna not have to spend oodles of cash on my deck anymore but when stuff like Necroface comes out and some ******* decides to drop $400 for one, it makes it easier to turn the game into a money game. Makes me wonder if those tards dropping hundreds and hundreds on a few cards are getting their money made back through win-a-boxes or an invite (depending on much you value an invite...).

I have a negative opinion on these people because those guys end up increasing the average price on cards because vendors look for the highest price they can find and price their cards accordingly. I don't wanna play in a money-meta. That's not fun to me at all.

While FTK/OTK's will be rampant, you guys need to remember that there is a counter for everything. Can't you imagine the INCONSISTANT hands that Rainbow Dark Dragon decks will generate?

LOLSUP Berserk Dragon, Dark Creator, Demise, Norleras, Phantom of Chaos opening hand. Only 'pro' stackers will be able to run that deck.

Solemn Judgment (and probably Dark Bribe) will be very important during the next few months (after PTDN is released).

The game is gonna speed up, but I am actually glad that 9 out of 16 decks are no longer going to be Perfect Circle/D-Raida now. PTDN will be fun, in my opinion.

Return is going to be sickkkk thanks to Dark Armed Dragon. I can't wait to get my set.
