Here is the breakdown of the top 8 decks (in order of placement after 6 rounds):

1) Steven Aragon (Lightning/ Wind)
2) Ryan, Machado (Water/ Earth; Deep Forest Creation Deck)
3) Leo, Castillejo (Lightning/ Wind)
4) Waheed, Ayobi (Water/ Wind)
5) Jose, Estorga (5 Prong Seal)
6) Juan Romero (Water/ Earth; Deep Forest Creation Deck)
7) Daniel Collens (Lightning/ Wind)
8) Greg Tyler (5 Prong Seal)

The winner of the top 8 was #7 Daniel Collens. Overall the spread of the top 8 was: 20% 5 Prong Seal, 60% Lightning Wind, 3% Fire, 15% Water, and 2% Miscs.

We had 59 players, which was 20 or so more than we expected. Everyone loved the prizing basically half the people that attended earned mats. Also foiled sets were randomed out.

With the erratas Fire has bit the dust, the best draw card for Fire is Surprise! (set 7 Mission) and the use of The Third Hokage has diminished by 85%, and inherit is not even seen on any deck list.

Thanks again for your time, we hope to see you all soon.

Wind/Earth didn't even make the cut either so that means there's less board removal in today's meta. Less 8 Trigrams, less Jutsu Negation, wow the meta really has changed.

I'm happy for the way the meta has turned out but I'm also disappointed as well. No decks to keep specific Ninja in check like 8 Trigram, now it just has Vortex to deal with.

Fire got pwned in the face badly mainly due to the erratas on APW and Inherits.

that's pretty surprising imo, my locals tourny top is 5-prong and tempo

pretty surprising that fire isn't even top anymore, and that water didn't make it (probably the VERY &#*(%#&@ new jutsu: Application of 1st Stage, seriously, that card is ridiculously STUPID. yea.. im angry at that card!)

but isn't 5 prong easily side-able? you throw in a few carrier kite or unfading affection no?

There is one card that totally shuts down 5 Prong. Really if you use it they CANNOT WIN, it's name is Released Seal. It's a Lightning Mission that you can use on Turn 0 and it's only a rare. Also Fire still rules my area because the only Naruto place around has the 3rd because Ninja in all of Hidden Mist. He is though changing his deck from Mono Fire to Fire/Lightning.

The NJ Chunins were a little different except the deck that won that event was Lightning/Earth and the runner-up was running Fire/Lightning.

I'm as just as surprised as you are mnh2 that Fire isn't even tier worthy anymore. Water is still dominant though so that's something that hasn't changed.

My main disappointment was that since Fire isn't as dominant anymore Wind's Anti-Removal strategies are only good against Water decks, which is probably why Wind/Earth didn't make the top 8 at both Chunin events in SoCal and NJ.

Currently my meta is Recyclegan, Mono-Fire Freedori, Water/Earth Control, and Lightning/Wind which infact won alot and was consistently good as well.

What type of themes were those Lightning/Winds? Gaara Sexy Jutsu?

It could of been, but in my meta nobody runs the Gaara/Sexy Jutsu combo since my store hardly sells any Gaara (Tragic Name)'s anymore.

My Wind/Earth Control deck is getting better in my meta since I gave a couple of my other friend's a run for their money.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Fire has lost it's luster, infact unless If you're running Mono-Fire Freedori you probably shouldn't even be running Fire at all cause Wind pretty much pwns over everything Fire has with cards like Tsunade (Big Tree) and Gigantic Fan.

Fire has better late game advantage than it does early game, it's also one of the reasons why people who run Fire run Jonins' Intervention to get their late game Ninja out way early with Nawaki's help.

Shikamaru USF pretty much makes Freedori almost unplayable due to negating Sasuke BTL's effect, but BoD might change that with Sasuke (Special Power) which can't be targeted by Shika's effect late game or on Turn 4 If you have the VoTE Mission card in-play.

I might of sounded like a hypocrite just now but I strongly believe Fire is the worst element in the game right now. Due to Reunion and Release of Chakra from QFP, Lightning has come from the second worst to best Element in the game currently next to Water, Wind, and Earth.

As for Gigantic Fan I'm starting to get the feeling that it might be too broken for it's own good but I'm not sure at the moment. If that's the case I'll need to try to get some Wind Scythe Jutsu from Coils as an extra backup incase Bandai erratas Gigantic Fan.

Third APW is pretty much a trash card right now cause he's a Kakashi (Instant Detection) for Ninja instead of Jutsu. Why run APW when you could be running Itachi or Jiraiya (Instruction of the Hidden Technique) to recycle and get back Jutsu from your Discard Pile with Naruto still in-play?

True, Fire/Water is still a solid deck type. I was running my Wind/Earth deck against it and it held its own pretty good, even beat it as well.

....... No.

The decks at the socal chunin were just bad... No one was remotely coopying those decks (lol perimeter multi etc)

The PA chunin was the start of the netdecking on lightning/wind from the first and second place decks, folowed by the NY jonin 3rd place deck :\

hmm. i think its called modification.......
not everyone copies a deck exactly
and multi shadow clone in the deck is vicious
i've played against them...
no one is running perimeters now...
well the first netdeck had to been david molls deck. (the best mental deck)
but wheni said "netedeckers were born" i didnt mean the very first im just saying that bandwagons and pathetic players switched to that version.
even when i was playing i saw players cheat and switch out their cards at the 3 J's tournament
