To me every anime leaves me with a completly different and unique feeling. Like DBZ... I was like finally, but I do like the series. Evangelion was like....  best describes it. I felt so sad at the end of Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. Well the animes that had the biggest impact on me are Evangelion, X, Chobits and Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou. So what about you guys?

Woah... that doesn't sound like something Vegeta would say. It's too... light-hearted. I like it, though. :D

I've seen the entire original Slayers series, and at the end, I had a deep affection for the show and the characters, but I wasn't sad at all, mainly because there's still two seasons left and the show's still in full swing. At the end of Slayers Next I might be a little sad since all that's left is the final season, and at the end of Slayers Try... *sniff* But I can't wait to see 'em, though.

-Serial Experiments Lain left me helpless and stupified...still kind of does...
-Hellsing left me wanting more and more...and looks like i'll never be satisfied

Ahh! I didn't like Hellsing so much so I was kinda happy that it ended. I just don't like the Vampire animes i guess.

Samarai X left me feeling sad for he lost the one he loved to his own blade.

Big O makes me confused to the point that I go read Philip K. D.ick (author of Blade Runner, Minority Report, Paycheck & Total Recall) novels and they make perfect sense.

Other than that, no anime has ever come close to affecting me...it's probably because they're just TV shows.

Trigun and Cowboy Bebop were to that were just awesome you just have to sit through every ep and take it all in. it was really good to see a hero that doesn't kill at all. spike was just an awesome character i think everyone should watch cowboy bebop at least once then if watch the whole series a second time through only you have to watch the movie before you watch the last 3 eps the movie shows how spike came to his decision. and dbz is just the best ation anime ever.

Evangelion definitley. It disturbed me and made me more into it and it also made me search for the true meaning behind the series. I spent about 4 months searching for information on Eva until it finally hit me: there is no meaning behind Eva. It is the most controversial anime ever was and ever shall be.

Probably FLCL. Now that I understand it, it's like nothing makes me feel confused anymore. I miss being confused...... Maybe I should check out Serial Experiments Lain........

Serial Experiments Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion, & FLCL.

Not so much particularly for its content, but Flame of Recca probably affected me the most as it was the first series that I managed to read all of the manga for.

Considering the timespan it took for me to read them all, waiting for the translations I couldn't help getting a little attached to the characters.

It's similar for most people when a long running series ends, especially one that they've enjoyed a lot.

I loved Flama of Recca. It was by far the funnest anime I ever watched. By funnest I mean that you kept asking for more. I haven't felt like that for an anime since DBZ but I like Flame of Recca much more then DBZ.

Watching Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend of Kyoto was an emotional rollercoaster for me my first time through it.

-Kaoru reliving the Kurogasa incident as Hitokiri Battousai steps out to fight Saitou
-Kenshin saying goodbye to Kaoru
-Megumi's little "talk" with Kaoru and Kaoru and Yahiko's departure
-Eiji's return to his village and Kenshin taking down the kid's parents
-Soujiro breaking the Sakabatou
-Sanosuke meeting Captain Shozu Sagara while training
-Kenshin having to draw Shakku's last sword against Chou
-Aoshi vs. Okina
-Kenshin "kills" Hiko Seijuro
-TM Revolution's "Heart of Sword" begins playing as Kenshin screams for his fallen master
-Anji's story
-Yahiko vs. Hennya
-Soujiro's story
-Aoshi steps in to fight Shishio
-Shishio kills Yumi to hit Kenshin
-Kaoru and Hiko's voices bring Kenshin back from the brink
-Misao running after the train

I've never watched any anime that played my heart like a twelve string. Too bad the third season of Kenshin had to suck so much. :(

"Barefoot Gen" moved me in ways I cannot express. No anime has ever come close to doing that, and I doubt any will.

No series anime has ever done anything for me... except for 08th MS team. It moved me in ways I can't express (thanks to Punichu for that phrase).

But, where Anime has really hit me hard is in the feature films... Metropolis was one, and Grave of the Fireflies too. Princess Mononoke... classic stuff... when i was younger and more impressionable, it helped me realize some things

Serial Experiments Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion, & FLCL.

I have heard a lot of good things about Serial Experiment Lain. I haven't watched it yet but I hope to soon. Also I don't know how FLCL changed anyone b/c i was lost from the beginning and I'm still very much lost.

No doubt in my mind one of them is Evangelion. It was the first series I hadnt seen on tv that I had to see the rest of. Once I saw it all man I figured out it was more than just the fact the preview looked sweet lmao. It had well something you cant put to words to it.

Ranma 1/2 changed me because I couldnt breathe during some scenes after all the laughter.

Cowboy Bebop was just awesome. Really there isnt any anime that can compare to it.

Theres more but I have to finish hw lmao. Ill post em later.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Remembrance, definitely. Just blew me away after I saw it. Junko Iwao delivers an absolutely perfect performance as Tomoe. So much emotion in every line.

Dont' be ashamed. lol I agree with Grave of the Fireflies. It's meant to make the audience cry and succeedes with shocking accuracy. The story is what makes it so gripping.

Wolfwood's death was one of the most emotionally strong moments in my experience in anime. The music was beatiful, the dialouge was unmatched, the visuals were unforgettable, and the moment was so perfectly timed in the overall anime... my words cannot do the scene justice. Simply put, Nicholas Wolfwood's last moments made me a better person. Honest.

Naruto. Especially episode 19...
I just watched that episode this morning (Only started watching Naruto a week ago, I know I'm slow...) and I really enjoyed it.
I'm looking forward to good stuff from this series.

The ending of Digimon Tamers always makes me feel sad for some reason even though it actually ends on a light note.
The ending of the Tenchi Muyo OVA always makes me impatient for the 3rd one.
Darkside Blues left me feeling kinda lost and incomplete.
X (movie) left me feeling depressed and incomplete.
Samurai X and Spirited Away left me amazed.
Fruits Basket and Fushigi Yuugi left me feeling warm and fuzzy.
The ending of Cowboy Bebop left me totally confused, but that's probably because I was watching a CB marathon on AS when I was just starting to watch the show and I had no idea that was the last ep.

As far as which anime changed me. . . I noticed that after watching Princess Mononoke I didn't flinch/react/mind blood, gore, and violence so much anymore. Rurouni Kenshin got me out of watching only fantasy/sci-fi anime. It also gave me a preference to physical fighting as opposed to fighting with magic and energy blasts. Hack//sign and Witch Hunter Robin got me into my thinking "mood" anime phase.

Lain. Heh. I never knew such vauge material could weigh so heavily on the brain. I'm in the middle of watching it, but I had to take a break because I've been a bit down this week and watching Lain just makes me feel worse. :P

"As far as which anime changed me. . . I noticed that after watching Princess Mononoke I didn't flinch/react/mind blood, gore, and violence so much anymore."

*laughs* Same here! :D

DBZ changed me by giving me the will to see things with more violence (I swear, I was pretty messed up, in 4th grade I worshipped James Bond movies, yet I wouldn't watch anything "violent"). @.@ Did I mention that I also watched X-Files?

*cough* DBZ, though I don't love it as much anymore, will always stay with me, if only just because of the characters. Without it I would not have been willing to watch Bebop, and if I hadn't watched Bebop, I most likely would not be the anime fan posting here today. Even more specific, the first ep of Bebop I saw was Waltz for Venus, which was one of the lightest episodes in the series, in my opinion.

Escaflowne changed me as well because it was the first anime that I saw in Japanese. After that, I learned just how bad most dubs were, and I started to find the Japanese language to be very beautiful-sounding.

There are more, but I'll have to post them later...

Probably Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. I was just amazed that Haruhi was actually more outgoing than me.

After watching that series, I really let loose. I feel so less cooped in and I'm having so much more fun now. xD

when i first watched dragonball z i didn't even know it was anime, i didn't even know what anime was either too but later on as i matured i found out it was anime and after that i have been an anime fan for a long time. so i guess you can say dragonball z is the first japanese cartoon i ever saw aside from pokemon.

another that has changed me was the goth genre anime called death note. this anime made me learn that apples are really juicy XD.

also naruto thought me to never give up.

Wow. How did a thread from 2004 get on the first page? >_>

Anywho, I'd have to say Pokemon. If it wasn't for that, I probably would never have started watching anime. Sometimes I regret it.

There's also Yu-Gi-Oh!, which helped break me out of being a weeaboo.

Other than that, FLCL and Eva changed me because they actually made me think at least a little about reflecting on who I am, and who humans are in general. Most everything else I watch for fun.

Pokemon was the first major anime for me, which lead me to making a Pokemon club during high school. Not that it had any major meaning or insane obsession, just that it was a common interst, that lead to me being Pokemon Girl for 4 years in high school.((I still like Pokemon though, but it's not an obsession))

Season 2 of Digimon was the one that actually got my brain lost on various little plotlines that never got answered(in my opinion). That irritated me so much that I made up my own story for how to answer those plotlines. Which lead to making a digimon RPG, which I still run today. Since the characters and concepts we made for the RPG will be used in books, I can't imagine my fictional life without this, and therefore I thank the origins of it-Digimon. ((Therefore I'm insanely happy about Digimon Savers/Data Squad))

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the most recent anime to get me motivated to do stuff. Except for her abuse to Mikuru, I'm surprised on how at times we have similar personalities, including leading a group of crazy friends. When I first really found out about Haruhi, it was at my first anime convention, and after that, I stumbled on the first DVD and became hooked, and started making more costumes. So, I can thank Haruhiism for my new insanity into cosplay. ((I'm planning on making 3 costumes by March 9, about 5 more for Fanime, and then about 6 for a skit for school.))

Evangelion. For obvious reasons.
Gantz for reminding me how precious life is.
Wolf's Rain for reminding that the end of a series can and will make you cry.
X...Well X is odd but I loved it.
FLCL/Excel Saga for reminding me it's bad to watch whacky anime while drunk/high.
Witch Hunter Robin, it's story of coming to terms with yourself, and who you are really touched me.

See, I watched WHR, but I never really got 'into' it because I'd catch random episodes on AS every now and then. But if that is one of the prominent themes of the show, then I'm even more interested in rewatching it again and paying more attention to it this time around.

It's not really pushed in your face like "COME TO TERMS DAMMIT!" it's real subtle and nice. But the series over all if worth checking out. I highly recommend it.

Also, another good coming to terms anime is Mirage Of Blaze, the ending will leave you like "wtf?" but, the OVA picks it up and finishes it amazingly. Just note, the series has serious yaoi theme's in it. Nothing graphic. And the OVA well......

I have to agree with Busterslash. If it wasn't for Pokemon, I would've never watched any anime. Once I started watching Pokemon, I immediately got hooked. I liked the way the characters came together as friends and battled with others with creatures that were stranger than the animals on Earth. Then came DragonballZ a few years later. This anime had me thinking on how such humans/humanoids(saiyans) with incredible strength and power help defend a planet thats constantly in turmoil.
