I usually prefer to have different rarities of the same card in my deck. For example, if I were to maindeck three copies of Enemy Controller, I would have the AST Ultra Rare version, the DR2 Super Rare version, and the CP01 Normal Rare version.

But I purposefully avoid decking all holofoils since it's a moronic display of "look at the size of my wallet and Willy", and it would lower me to the level of the meatheads who are willing to spend their life savings on Championship Pack versions of cards they've had in their shoe boxes for three years.

well u dont necesarly have to spend money in all ur cards, u can trade for them, play for them, some times when u have the money after paying bills u can buy some at a reasonable price, thats how i do.

I used to "bling" my deck like crazy. I used to have like:

I can't believe that people actually use the HL cards. I understand the need to bling your deck, but those cards are realistically worth less than most of their originals.

Plus the telltale bends give info away from your opponent. For example, people who use ONLY the HL sangan....it kind of makes it easy to tell when you set it.....cos it's got a huge freaking bend in it

I went through a stage where i upgraded the rarities of my cards, and still have the torrential, call etc as holos, but I would rather by 2 super Raiza's for $20 each than 1 ult for $40.....

But if you have the spare cash, more power to you

I had every of the highest rarity in my deck, then I almost got banned in t8 because ultimates leave marks on the back of sleeves.

So I'm selling all my ****, making a ton of $$$, and getting commons/rares and winning with that instead.

i just really like parallel rares.
the thing is, mine have been in binders, etc until theyre flat.
so i dont have that problem.

Man, I have all rares and commons, except for one super...scapegoat. It's a pretty good earth deck though. It seems to work for me. I'd rather have all common versions of my cards in my main deck, that way if they get bent or damaged or even stolen, there easy to replace.

Man, I have all rares and commons, except for one super...scapegoat. It's a pretty good earth deck though. It seems to work for me. I'd rather have all common versions of my cards in my main deck, that way if they get bent or damaged or even stolen, there easy to replace.


I agree completely. My entire deck is as low as it can get, including damaged cards. I really don't care, as it leaves the better cards for me to trade.

When I build my deck, I do it the cheapest way possible, so I generally have the lowest rarities of cards in my deck, but I pick decktypes that are naturally 'blinged'-ish like CyDra decks, and, recently, Horus Dragon-build. But there's common LV6 in the new Structure, So yay for me.

To all those out there who spend 200$ to build a 50$ deck, you got a disease.

the best "blinged" decks are the onces that win major tournaments...not how shiny they are and how many ultras/ promos and supers are in the deck. A lot of good cards are blinged though, but there are some blinged worthless cards too

I have a lot of stuff for rarer decks like I like to deck my TP2 Jar and stuff but I honestly like to build my decks as close to normal rare as possible. so all commons and rares but if smthign comes in only super or common I go for common.

I just recently got 2 rare cyber dragons and I'm looking for another. Then my deckwill be the lowest possible rarity.

(I say we need normal rare Raizas).

What are these Hobby League cards? Anything special to them or are they just reprints of old rare cards? And why are they not allowed?

To my knowledge, they are still allowed. Hobby League cards are only special reprints of older cards, i.e. Fissure, Creature Swap, and Kycoo, the Ghost Destroyer. There is also a reprint of Zanji. The only Hobby cards I play are Sangan and Mystic Tomato (only Sangan, ATM).

My test decks are mostly commons, but once I get a strategy that I really like I swap in all my shiny cards. My LADD deck is all super->ultimate except for foolish burial (damn common!) and DH-Fear Monger (rare).

At this point I don't need cards, but I still collect the CP supers and ultimates.

I generally make decks as aesthetically pleasing as possible, usually trying to fill them with supers and ultras. For the most part, I find ultimate rares to be hideous and I don't use them. Secrets are ok, but if I can find ultra or super versions of the same card, I'd rather have them.
