Sacred Ash

I fought the 100 trainers who use 3 level 100 pokemon each and also purified all 48 shadow pokemon and was rewarded a Ho-oh however mine was not holding the Sacred Ash item?

I did the 1 on 1 trail I wonder if I were to do the doubles would it have held the Sacred Ash item? on the plus side my Ho-oh has a modest nature.

I wouldn't worry about it too much... and maybe it's not supposed to have the item? I dunno.

I thought that Sacred Ash can only be obtained by capturing/acquiring Ho-oh however I maybe mistaken.

I believe the only way to get Sacred Ash in the 3rd generation games is to win it from a Battle CD in Pokemon XD.
