I need help with moves for Voltorb-Ruby game

I have an Adamant natured Voltorb and I need help with a move set for it for when it evolves. It's level 27 now.

Moves it has now:

Tackle
Screech
Sonic Boom
Spark

Also, what stats should I EV train it in? I was doing Attack & HP but I'm not sure if that's what I should be training it in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

ok, I was thinking about giving it Thunderbolt. Can you explain how using Substitute then Explosion will be a good move combo?

I'm not sure if it works but use Sub the Explosion and you might not take damage with the sub but it might wotk.

I've used Electrode as a Boomer. From what I remember it has good speed but not the greatest movepool. The one I used was:

=Light Screen
=T-bolt
=Explosion
=Mirror coat

Got Boomers?

My Voltorb evolved and is level 33.
It's stats so far are as follows:

HP- 99
Atk- 58
Def- 60
Sp Atk- 61
Sp Def- 65
Speed- 110

Additional Comment:

What about Swift? Would that be any good for Electrode?

I haven't used electrode since RBY, but...

He's one of the fastest in the game, so you should abuse this.

T-Wave (Emerald move tutor)
T-Bolt
Light Screen/Reflect
Explosion

it's basically like shineyaltaria's. paralysis isn't for his benefit, it's for helping out the rest of your team. Light Screen/Reflect is good because he can almost always get them out first (on second thought maybe he can't learn Reflect...). his attack is low but Explosion is powerful enough that you can finish off something who isn't a physical wall. and then Thunderbolt is kind of your main attack.

or if you wanted you could use T-wave and Swagger to be completely annoying, I had a Magneton with that combo.

I think it should know explosion/thunder/thunder bolt/and shock wave.

I disagree with BBQ man thats to many electric attacks. Try this one since it can do very little damage in a fight.
