im just curious what was the purpus of the g/s ball? i stopped watching the episode they got it. and i was just curious

They were given the ball by someone in the Orange Islands. She told them to give it to Professor Oak, who told them to give it to Kurt.

Until we here from Kurt or Professor Oak, we won't know.

Not sure what the GS stands for... but in the Japanese Pokémon Crystal game it was used to find Celebi. Maybe it will serve a similar purpose later in the show...

yep that was it. See in japan, after 16 badges, you went to something called a Pokemon Communication Center, left out of the English version, as it required the moblie addapter. you had to win a certain number of games at the PCC, and you then got the G/S Ball. YOu showed it to Kurt, who Kept it for one day. Then, you met him before the Ilex forest where strange thigs were happening. You entered, and went to the shrine. There you placed the GS Ball and faced a level 30 Celebi.

I thought that the Com Center wasn't taken out completely from the American version, just that they took out the building from the city and that if you Shark, you can access it somehow..

Nope, it was removed. It was totally replaced with the Goldenrod Pokecenter, as the Comm center had a pokecenter inside. However, you can shark the g/s ball into the game.

I mean you'd think that with something that remained in the story for so long you'd think they'd at least let us know what it was! But they just dropped the subject! Really, it seems it's only purpose was to get the gang to a new location! How LAME!!!

Only in the 4th movie, but the G/S ball wasn't mention at all in it.
