The tournament continues

The preview seems Dave really angry (probably because he has learned he passed up a person with a Duel Spirit).

Yup Dave, you goofed.

By the sounds of the title, the big bad's about to advance his/her plans, so we might learn more about him/her, his/her connection to Dave and Reggie, and why he/she needs Duel Spirits.

The enemy have started to move? Is this Metal Gear GX now?

Whoah, TrippingBillies. Er, in the manga forum. And yes, 'The Enemy who has Started Moving' is a bit of a stiff translation.

~Spoilers up ahead~

The chapter is out, and Judai beats Seika (well, duh). David recognises Elemental Hero The Earth as one of the Planet Series cards, just like his The big SATURN. Seika pulls out a huge hydra-type monster which tears The Earth into dog food-sized chunks, but Judai manages to claw his way to victory with---get this: Hane Kuriboh LV9. At the end, David and Reggie block Judai's pathway in the exit corridor, and we get a shot of a strange dark figure, who no doubt has something to do with the black cloud creature than Darkness-Dueled Kouyou.

Hane Kuriboh LV9? Does that mean it's somehow weaker than LV10? Hope to lord its easier to summon.

And then the big bad will brag about his plan through his servants, have a go at the hero and prepare for his next move.

Of course villians always have an urge to brag about their plans

Wow, Hane Kuriboh LV9. Funny when you think about it - if this was the anime, we'd all be complaining about how pointless it is, but since this is the manga, it's officially awesome.

Winged Kuriboh LV9
LIGHT
Level 9
ATK/? DEF/?
[Fairy/Effect]
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Renkinjutsu no Kenkyū Seika". This card's ATK and DEF are the sum of the ATK and DEF of the 3 other monsters removed from play to Special Summon this card.

Renkinjutsu no Kenkyū Seika *
[Spell Card] **
Remove from play 1 "Winged Kuriboh" and 3 other monsters from your Graveyard. Special Summon 1 "Winged Kuriboh LV9" from your hand or Deck.

In this case, the three monsters removed from play to Special Summon Winged Kuriboh LV9 were Elemental Hero Airman (1800/300), Elemental Hero The Earth (ATK/2500 DEF/2000) and Rai-Ō (1900/800), so Winged Kuriboh LV9 had ATK/6200 DEF/3100.

By way of comparison, here are Winged Kuriboh LV10 and Transcendent Wings.

It is harder to summon that LV10 and the effect is not as good.

Result of Alchemic Research - reminds anyone of Banner?

3 other monsters from your side of the Field? Does that mean they can come from the Graveyard as well? It seems like that was the case in the Manga.

EDIT: Just looked at the Japanese Scans. Although I can't read Japanese, it's safe to say that if Winged Kuriboh LV9 comes out in the TCG, and has the effect I think it does, I WILL make a Kuri-Chaos deck.

and if it comes out, probably the makers will have it where it can summon itself.

4 monsters is hard, but is the closest thing to ra.

I am fairly certain that Result of Alchemic Research wants monsters in your Graveyard, not field.

I think so too. As far as I remember, The Earth got ripped apart by Seika's snake, and that was one of the cards removed for HKLV9's attack and defense.

In any case, I can forsee Hane Kuriboh LV9 being released soon enough as either a Premium Pack, Limited Edition, or Jump promo. I'm guessing it'll get the same treatment a few cards have recently gotten: its summoning condition is built-in, so there's no need for Result of Alchemic Research. In fact, that's what I'm hoping will happen. HKLV9 is cool.

Hane Kuriboh LV9 will be a nomy, but a powerful one. It'll come it all the summon condition we're used to but no much bad modification what we're hoping not to come,by the way there's no cost to active Result of Alchemic Research diffrently from Transcendent Wings that froces you to discard 2 cards from your hand,I don't think that Hane Kuriboh LV 9 will be easy to summon not only by it's on effect but by the effect of the Result of Alchemic Research!

Sadly this is probably the closest thing we'll ever get to the idea that Jaden's fusion deck is similar to an alchemy deck. (Which has a place on the list of missed opportunities in the Anime).

Graveyard it is, then.

Fixed!

Now we know that Result of Alchemic Research removes monsters from the graveyard, Winged Kuriboh LV9's playablity just went up. I mean it's more or less a win condition.

Use Flute of Summoning Kuriboh to summon Wing Kuriboh/Use Transcendant Wings to summon LV10

Activate it's effect (first step should've been done during Opp.'s battle phase).

Your turn comes and make sure your opponent's back field is clear before summoning Winged Kuriboh LV9.

What sucks now is that it'll likely give birth to yet another 1TK deck if released with the same effects.
