Jiggy-Ninja
08-03-2007, 10:56 PM
This is the first Pokemon battle that I have really played against another person, against whom I can only assume is Near (I don't know why I suspect that though. Just a feeling).
Surprisingly, I won, although apparently it wasn't one of Near's good teams.
I would like to know anything I might have did right, as well as those things I did wrong. Feel free to lol at any Newbyness you spot. I just might lol along with you.
My team
Slaking
Scizor
Blissey
Skarmory
Lucario
-------6th Pokemon never came out
Near's Team
Brozong
Breloom
Snorlax
Rhyperior
Togekiss
Dusknoir
Near sent out Bronzong.
Jiggy-Ninja sent out Slaking.
Near: gl
Jiggy-Ninja: Just as a warning, you'll probably kick my ass
Slaking used Hammer Arm.
Bronzong lost 54% of its health.
Slaking's speed was lowered.
Bronzong used Trick Room.
Bronzong twisted the dimensions!
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.
Hammer Arm was the best move My Slaking could use against a Bronzong, since Earthquake would most likely be foiled by Levitate.
Near: I'm perfectly content with doing so.
Bronzong used Hypnosis.
Slaking fell asleep!
Slaking is loafing around!
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.
For some freakin reason, I forgot about Traunt and went to use Hammer Arm again. Oh well, Slaking did get Sleep out of the way.
Near switched in Breloom.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Skarmory.
Breloom was badly poisoned!
Obviously I'm going to switch out the Sleeping Sloth.
Near switched in Togekiss.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Scizor.
Truth be told I really don't know why I switched. In hindsight, I suppose that I could have set up Stealth Rock at this point.
Togekiss used Nasty Plot.
Togekiss's special attack was sharply raised.
Scizor used Aerial Ace.
Togekiss lost 32% of its health.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Might as well start attacking now. Aerial Ace was the best attack I had to deal with Togekiss.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Blissey.
Togekiss used Air Slash.
Blissey lost 30% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
After seeing that Nasty Plot, I wasn't keeping Scizor in there. And naturally, who else to pick but the big pink blob?
Togekiss used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Blissey lost 49% of its health.
Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Togekiss lost 27% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Ouch. Aura Sphere hurt.
Near: blissey is so sexy.
Near: >_<
Jiggy-Ninja: perv
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Scizor.
Togekiss used Aura Sphere.
Scizor lost 91% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
I don't know why I switched into Scizor. I should have known that Aura Sphere would have done huge damage. Luckily, it didn't OHKO it like next turn.
Scizor used Aerial Ace.
A critical hit!
Togekiss lost 64% of its health.
Togekiss used Air Slash.
Scizor lost 116% of its health.
Jiggy-Ninja's Scizor fainted.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Lucario.
Since it was out, I figured that I might as well attack with Aerial Ace again. Scoring a Critical Hit just added to my luck from last turn. And with the demise of my poor Scizor, out came Lucario.
5 - 6
Near switched in Dusknoir.
Dusknoir is exerting its pressure!
Lucario used Dark Pulse.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
Dusknoir lost 122% of its health.
Near's Dusknoir fainted.
Near: wow. lame.
Near: D=
Near switched in Bronzong.
Togekiss was almost gone at this point, and I figured he might switch. I didn't really have a reason, but the little voice In my head was telling me not to use Aura Sphere. And Dragon Pulse was out of the question in case he swapped into the Bronzong. Dark Pulse was the only other option (There would have been Psychic, but I clicked the wrong move. Stupid Rest). And once again, luck is on my side as it hits Critically and OHKOs Dusknoir. And whadda you know, in comes the Bronzong.
5 - 5
Lucario used Dark Pulse.
Bronzong lost 32% of its health.
Bronzong used Trick Room.
Bronzong twisted the dimensions!
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.
Dark Pulse was as good as any other move I had to fight Bronzong, so I decided to keep Lucario in. The accursed Trick Room is an annoyance, though it did help my Skarmory against the next Pokemon.
Near switched in Breloom.
Lucario used Dark Pulse.
It's not very effective...
Breloom lost 32% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 12% of its health.
A switch, an attack, nothing special.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Skarmory.
Breloom used Substitute.
Breloom lost 25% of its health.
Breloom made a substitute!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 12% of its health.
Newb I may be, but I'm not stupid enough to let my Lucario take a Focus Punch right to the face, especially with Choice Specs locking my into Dark Pulse. Substitute wasn't that much of a surprise.
Breloom is tightening its focus!
Skarmory used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Breloom used Focus Punch.
Skarmory lost 50% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 12% of its health.
Now was as good a time as any to launch Stealth rock, especially since I missed my earlier oppurtunity. Focus Puch probably hurt my poor birdie like a ***** though.
Near: Skarmbliss is fun.
Near: =P
Near: So is Breloom.
Breloom is tightening its focus!
Skarmory used Drill Peck.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Breloom!
Breloom's substitute faded!
Breloom used Focus Punch.
Skarmory lost 54% of its health.
Jiggy-Ninja's Skarmory fainted.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 12% of its health.
Jiggy-Ninja switched in Lucario.
I didn't want to risk switching any of my Pokemon into a Focus Punch, so Skarmory had to take one for the team. And he took it like a champ, breaking Breloom's Substitute in the process. Out comes Lucario for the mop-up. Little did I know though, this mop-up was going to encompass more than just a Breloom.
4 - 5
Lucario used Aura Sphere.
Breloom lost 110% of its health.
Near's Breloom fainted.
Near switched in Bronzong.
Pointed stones dug into Bronzong.
Bronzong lost 6% of its health.
I can only imagine what that Breloom must have been feeling at the very end. RIP little freaky mushroom-dinosaur thing. Out comes Bronzong again, already weak from the previous boughts, and I doubt Stealth Rock did any good for it.
4 - 4
Lucario used Aura Sphere.
Bronzong lost 49% of its health.
Near's Bronzong fainted.
Near switched in Snorlax.
Pointed stones dug into Snorlax.
Snorlax lost 12% of its health.
Yeah. That was expected. And in comes the other fat blob, though this time it's the bluish-grey-wtf-color-is-it blob.
4 - 3
Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Snorlax lost 64% of its health.
Snorlax used Body Slam.
It's not very effective...
Lucario lost 29% of its health.
Snorlax's leftovers restored its health a little!
Snorlax restored 6% of its health.
Nothing special or unexpected here.
Near: Uh oh.
Near: I found a weakness.
Near: in this team.
Near: =P
Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Snorlax lost 70% of its health.
Near's Snorlax fainted.
Near switched in Togekiss.
Pointed stones dug into Togekiss.
Togekiss lost 25% of its health.
Near's Togekiss fainted.
Near switched in Rhyperior.
Pointed stones dug into Rhyperior.
Rhyperior lost 6% of its health.
Continuing the slaughter, Lucario knocks Snorlax into the next dimension. And thanks to Stealth Rock (my favorite attack now), I got 2 Pokemon for the price of one on that deal! And on top of that, his remaining Pokemon is weak to Aura Sphere. How lucky am I?
4 - 1
Jiggy-Ninja: Please enlighten me when this is done then
Near: Aura Sphere.
Jiggy-Ninja: This is my first battle
Near: =P
Near: haha.
Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Rhyperior lost 132% of its health.
Near's Rhyperior fainted.
Jiggy-Ninja wins!
Near: would you like to face another team of mine?
Near: a more serious one =P?
The slaughter finally ends, with Rhyperior being the final casualty. Lucario stands triumphant amongst the demolished remains of his foes. Long live Lucario.

So, how stupid was I in this match?
Things I think I should have done differently:
1) Setting up Stealth Rock the first time Skarmory was out against Breloom instead of switching.
2) Remember Traunt!! It all worked out in the end, but that kind of forgetfulness could cost me a Pokemon in the future.
Surprisingly, I won, although apparently it wasn't one of Near's good teams.
I would like to know anything I might have did right, as well as those things I did wrong. Feel free to lol at any Newbyness you spot. I just might lol along with you.
