Here's another warstory on Shoddy, between me and a mod called Light.

Rules:

Lvl 100 Pokemon
Sleep Clause
Evasion Ban
Species Clause
No ubers

Akatsuki's team (order of slots):

Aerodactyl
Donphan
Gastrodon
Garchomp
Medicham
Gengar

Light's team (order of appearance, and I didn't see his whole team)
- Persian
- Ninjask
- Suicine
- ???
- ???
- ???

Akatsuki sent out Aerodactyl.
Light sent out Persian.
Aerodactyl is exerting its pressure!
Aerodactyl used Stone Edge.
Persian lost 89% of its health.
Persian used Icy Wind.
It's super effective!
Aerodactyl lost 53% of its health.
Aerodactyl's speed was lowered.
Aerodactyl's leftovers restored its health a little!
Aerodactyl restored 6% of its health.

At this point I'm thinking, "Who's this guy?"

6-6
---
Persian used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
Aerodactyl lost 119% of its health.
Akatsuki's Aerodactyl fainted.

I slap myself for forgetting the speed reduction of Icy Wind.

5-6.

---
Akatsuki switched in Medicham.
Medicham used Psycho Cut.
Persian lost 99% of its health.
Light's Persian fainted.

Time to send in my revenge killer.

5-5.

---
Light switched in Ninjask.
OMFG! It's Epic! has entered the room.
OMFG! It's Epic!: >_>
Akatsuki switched in Gastrodon.
Ninjask used Substitute.
Ninjask lost 25% of its health.
Ninjask made a substitute!
Ninjask's leftovers restored its health a little!
Ninjask restored 6% of its health.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!
Ninjask's speed was raised.

At this point, I'm thinking something isn't right, because Ninjask are usually starters, and not somewhere in the middle of a team.

5-5.
---
Ninjask used Attract.
Gastrodon fell in love!
Gastrodon is in love with foe Ninjask!
Gastrodon is immobilised by love!
Ninjask's leftovers restored its health a little!
Ninjask restored 6% of its health.
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its speed!
Ninjask's speed was raised.

That caught me completely off guard.

5-5.

---
OMFG! It's Epic!: No warstory to advertise floatzal and gigas?
Akatsuki switched in Donphan.
Ninjask used Baton Pass.
Light switched in Suicune.
Suicune is exerting its pressure!

I was thinking that I could hopefully Ice Shard off the Sub before it got passed, but unfortunately, I was a step late.

5-5.
---
Akatsuki switched in Gastrodon.
Suicune used Surf.
Gastrodon lost 22% of its health.
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.

I sent in my sponge to absorb the incoming Surf, but my Gastrodon can't do diddly squat to a Suicine. So I need a solution. Fast. Before it starts Calm Minding.

5-5.
---
Light: Meh
Suicune used Calm Mind.
Suicune's special attack was raised.
Suicune's special defence was raised.
Gastrodon used Mirror Coat.
But it failed!
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.

I start panicking at this point, because my element of surprise is gone and he knows I have Mirror Coat.

5-5. I'm going down.

---
Akatsuki switched in Gengar.
Suicune used Calm Mind.
Suicune's special attack was raised.
Suicune's special defence was raised.

I switch in Gengar because it has Thunderbolt, and unfortunately, that's the only counter to Suicine I have, thinking that a lot of Defense EVs and a Bold nature is invested in Suicine.

5-5.

---
Suicune used Surf.
Gengar lost 103% of its health.
Akatsuki's Gengar fainted.

Trouble. Here it comes.

4-5.
---
Akatsuki switched in Medicham.
Suicune used Surf.
Medicham lost 106% of its health.
Akatsuki's Medicham fainted.

I was praying to god that my Scarfcham might outspeed Suicine, but I'm wrong. Because of the Speed passed from Ninjask.

3-5. I'm sinking, fast.

---
Akatsuki switched in Gastrodon.
Suicune used Calm Mind.
Suicune's special attack was raised.
Suicune's special defence was raised.
Gastrodon used Surf.
It's not very effective...
The substitute took damage for Suicune!
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.

At this point it's pretty much game, because I have nothing that can outspeed it that can do sufficient damage to stop it.

3-5.

---
Akatsuki switched in Garchomp.
Suicune used Surf.
Garchomp lost 78% of its health.
Garchomp's leftovers restored its health a little!
Garchomp restored 6% of its health.

This was a stupid move, I admit. Garchomp was my only hope to getting remotely near to smashing that sub, and I should've sacrificed something to send Garchomp in.

3-5.
---
Suicune used Surf.
Garchomp lost 84% of its health.
Akatsuki's Garchomp fainted.

At this point, it's seriously game over.

2-5.

---
Akatsuki switched in Donphan.
Donphan used Ice Shard.
It's not very effective...
The substitute took damage for Suicune!
Suicune used Surf.
It's super effective!
Donphan lost 199% of its health.
Akatsuki's Donphan fainted.

Point proven.

1-5.

---
Akatsuki switched in Gastrodon.

Great. My Gastrodon can't go anywhere near breaking that sub, so it's game over.

---
Akatsuki: gg
Suicune used Surf.
Gastrodon lost 68% of its health.
Gastrodon used Surf.
It's not very effective...
The substitute took damage for Suicune!
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.

If I had Mirror Coated that, I might have been able to break the sub. But I still lost.

1-5.
---
Light: gg
Suicune used Surf.
Gastrodon lost 64% of its health.
Akatsuki's Gastrodon fainted.
Light wins!
Light has left the room.
OMFG! It's Epic! has left the room.

That's all, folks. The moral of the story is to use things that people have never seen before so they don't know how to counter it.

If that's how ridiculous those 3 were, I can hardly imagine what the other 3 are >>

I also give MAD Props to the Persian for Icy Wind. That is a move NO ONE would expect (Especially because it only learns it from an Emerald Tutor >>)

That was a nice read. Icy Wind Persian and Attract Ninjask is just great. What a kickazz way to keep a Sub alive.

Wow That Was Awesome!

Attract = Hax...J/K :D.

Anyways, Icy Wind isn't as useless as you may think.
In a Double Battle, it has quite a bit of potential....

Anyways, Akatsuki, sadly you just got outplayed....:(

Akatsuki

Yeah. I completely forgot about the speed reduction of Icy Wind.

Yeah. I completely forgot about the speed reduction of Icy Wind.

One of the few reasons I don't like Shoddy:
It's a bit more difficult to keep up with what PKMN are statused or what your STAT Modification levels are at.

Akatsuki

Yeah. Btw, Light Clay is up now.

I have to agree with that.

Although, that was pretty good. Wished you pwned him though.

Akatsuki

Yeah I did. How did you know? Maybe I should write a warstory on that too.

All Hail The Mighty Nidacada's.
For There Evolutions Have Stopped Akatsuki In His Tracks Twice.
First The Pixie And Then Comes The Evil Flying Bettle.

Heh. What's the pixie and beetle?

StealthoftheWest

That's what I love about Pokemon...

People think they have the 4th gen. metagame all figured out already, and then they lose to things like an Icy Wind / Thunderbolt Persian and an Attract Ninjask, which wasn't even used as a starter...

Akatsuki
08-02-2007, 08:01 AM
Exactly. I found out that Relicanth kicks butt this generation because of Rock Polish.

Keefe

creativity is important to the metagame :
I use my Milotic as an annoyer, and not a sweeper. Once they switch - predicting Surf - to counter my Milo, I uses Toxic right away ;)

Is Shoddy a Pokemon online program? If so could you please gigive me the link and lmk? :D

One more thought: When up against CM Cune, does Psych Up work effectively? In dp I'm creating a Ghost Team and using Mismagus as a CM Cune counter with Psych Up and Thunderbolt. Mismagus has wicked Spe and good Sp. Def and Sp. Att.

I would say that it would work. And that's just plain Nasty!!

The Blue Hedgehog

Heh. What's the pixie and beetle?
Pixie = SHEDINGA!
Evil Devil Beetle = Ninjask

Personally, I think that D/P will produce the greatest generation yet. There are so many Pokemon now...and with the physical / special split, along with the unpredictability with movesets...

I battled this guy too, and he kicked my but the exact same way T_T

I have to agree. You did notice from our 10+ battles right? >.> 10+... o.O LOL!

Btw, sorry for getting your other thread locked.

dabom88, you obviously don't know the power of Ninjask as Baton Passers. Anyways, I beat Light pretty badly in the following matches. I'll post a warstory.

Hmm, what's so facsinating about getting 5-0'd by a powered up Pokemon?
I mean, I guess you were trying to show originality or whatever.

Akatsuki
08-03-2007, 04:52 AM
Yeah. I've never seen a Persian used competitively with Icy Wind and I've never seen a Ninjask with Attract.

Those are pretty original, if you ask me.
