what are the differences between ROAR and WHIRLWIND
I see theyre description and its basically the same, so whats the difference if any?, does a pokemons speed apply to whirlwind? or is it like roar that always goes second?

There is no difference, Whirlwind is only preferred because there are some Pokemon that know Soundproof (Exploud, Mr.Mime, etc...) that are resistant to Roar. Nothing other than Cradily is unaffected by Whirlwind. So no real difference.

What about Octillery? And Ingrain prevents being switched.

And yes, the reason is Soundproof, I think I was originally the one who brought up that point, also applies to Aromatherapy/Heal Bell.

On RSBot/NetBattle, there's no difficulty in putting Whirlwind over Roar, so why not be prepped for Soundproof ? We're not saying that you shouldn't use any Shufflers that can only have Roar and not Whirlwind.

Isn't Whirlwind able to hit a Pokemon that used Fly? Or did they change that?

Yea, 'but who uses Fly' and all that stuff.

They changed it, while Magnitude/EQ/Fissure can still hit underground pokes, no longer can Gust/Twister (Both very weak  ) or whirlwind hit pokes using fly. Sky Uppercut can though and besides a combo with Lock-on/Mind Reader, I don't think there is any other way to hit one using fly.

there is no real difference..if your looking at the effects of the attacks then ya there is no difference...if you look deeper into it there is a difference because of the whole soundproof factor but thats the only thing that makes them different.

What about Thunder? Thunder was able to hit a pokemon using Fly in G/S/C.
