I remember seeing the Volume 30 (Duelist 23) cover a long time ago, and finding it really boring. Interestingly now, I quite like it. There's something in the simplicity of it (maybe the awesome reprint volume covers have got me hooked on the single-character covers).

I'm glad to see Millennium World 7 isn't going to be ten months after 6.

Some nice covers, but will the volumes be edited correctly, or will the Viz Text Boxes of Doom dominate?

Probably the latter, unless Viz has shaped up on its translation of YGO...

On the other hand, the remaining Millennium Worlds will be excellently translated and well-edited.

I do forget, do the two titles have different graphics editors?

I do forget, do the two titles have different graphics editors?Yep. At least, I've always assumed it's the 'Touch-up art & Lettering' person who edits text boxes.

That's what I meant, LOL.

That's what I meant, LOL.Er, right. Kelle Han for MW, Eric Erbes for Duelist.

Wow, Duelist ended up being delayed a whole year because of adding that extra month of waiting between each release. We would have been done by January of this year! If the quality of the editing didn't get better, why did we have to wait two months instead of one between releases?

Good question. It's not like we have to wait for the actual chapters contained in the volume to be published in Jump, since it's Duelist, and the series itself is completed, so there's nothing to catch up with. And we still have the Boxes o' Doom. I bet most of us here would like to know why...

If the quality of the editing didn't get better, why did we have to wait two months instead of one between releases? What I want to know is why when they started to come out every two months, the editing actually got worse. I think there were traces of proper thought-balloon editing up to 13 and a bit in 14. After that, the interval lengthened and the Viz Box O' Dooms got slapped onto anything/everything.

Duelists 1, 2, 3 and 7 were the only ones that don't have Viz Boxes, if I remember rightly.

What I found interesting was that when I looked at the publication pages in my duelist volumes, the first printing dates are all the month before they were actually printed (Vol 2 claims that its first printing was in February, but Duelist 1 advertises it as coming out in March, when I actually found it in stores). The first printing dates weren't accurate until Duelist 14 came out, when they were taking two months to release it.

Yeah, Viz did that for all of their books because they printed each book a month before they released it and I suppose the guy that did the publication pages didn't catch on for a while.
