What is PKRS?

What is PKRS? MY pokemon got it after some battles near Mossdeep City after a battle with a Wild Sharpedo. What is it and is it bad or good?

PKRS is pokerus, the pokemon virus. It's actually a very good thing. It happens randomly, much like encountering a shiny pokemon. The virus causes your stats to increase more than usual whenever you level up by doubling your effort values. The pokerus can spread to other pokemon in your party. Once your pokemon has had the pokerus, it cannot get infected again. The pokerus will eventually wear off, and your pokemon will be cured, but you can deposit the infected pokemon into the PC to keep it infected.

You must be pretty lucky to get the Pokerus.

Wow that is good because it was my beginner lv 60 Skarmory along with some other pokemon that got it.
