I've had it for a while now, since Tuesday, I think, but I hadn't thought to post about it. I'll just C+P what I posted on Toon Zone.

Got it today. A few highlights (more to come later):

Four Naruto chapters (and five more next issue).
Naruto ends the HLV invasion arc after twenty-four chapters and begins The Return of Itachi story arc.
One Chapter of Bo^7 but listed as 'chapter 2'.
The final chapter of Shaman King is printed in this issue. The Manga will go bimonthly in GN format.
Two new chapters of YGO (it ends in December).

Shô and Jūdai duke it out in YGOGX, one new chapter this month (chapter eight).
More Yū Yū Hakusho, Hikaru no Go, and a sneak preview at Death Note 13: How To Read.
One Piece gets three new chapters and an interview with creator Eiichiro Oda.

Page 006 contains a timeline for the Shônen JUMP Evolution event:

July: Bô^7 joins the monthly manga lineup.
August: Shaman King goes bimonthly. Fan art Extravaganza: Art Jam.
September: New series spotlight: Kurohime. Naruto vols. 16-18 on sale. Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow Ani-manga, vol. 1. Shaman King vol. 13.
October: Dragball collector. Manga preview: Muhyo and Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. Naruto vols. 19-21 on sale.
November: New manga series starts in SJ. We'll announce the title soon. Special Naruto coverage of the volumes that won't appear in SJ (volumes 16-27). On sale: Naruto volumes 22-24.
December: Special video game issue. One monthly manga ends--which one will it be?! Bonus: read the original Naruto story that started it all. On Sale: Naruto's volumes 25-27.
January: Naruto volume 28 begins serialization.

EDIT:

There's also character biographies of the Blue Dragon characters. Naruto fanbook excerpts and contests and card coverage, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the new XBox game. The usual card coverage for YGO and also previews at new cards from the Premium Packs.

Nah, it was because Chopper made his entrace into the English run of the comic.

By the way, I think Viz is currently running Naruto volume 16 in the magizine 'cause the final chapter this month was The Third Hokage's funeral. Next month they run five new chapters.

EDIT: Yes, by my calculations next months issue will contain the remaining five chapters of volume 16 of Naruto.

Book sixteen will seemingly have its last five chapters printed in the magizine for September 2007 (out August 7, I believe) and will then be printed in book format the following month. In English:

The last five chapters of vol. 16 will be printed in the September 2007 issue.
Volume sixteen, seventeen, and eighteen come out Sept. 4.

Nope. After tis next issue I believe Naruto will leave the magizine until it returns in January 2008 to begin publishing volume 28. Viz says that they plan to release volumes bimonthly then (which would mean they'd have to publish four chapters in one issue, five in the next, for several months). We might actually wind up being only chapters behind Japan by the year 2009. My guess is:

January 2008: 245-248.
Feb.: 249-253
March: 254-257
April: 258-262
May: 263-266
June: 267-271
July: 272-275
August: 276-280
September: 281-284
October: 285-289
November: 290-293
December: 294-299

That's six volumes worth of material in one year, that is if they do print it like so.

Nope, Naruto will leave the magizine for the October issue. The November issue will recap the 17-27 and then I believe December will include the original Naruto pilot.

If 28+ really are going to be bimonthly release that means Naruto will be having four and five chapters per month for at least a year.

September 2007 (#57) will contain the final five chapters in volume 16. According to August 2007, page 006:

November: Speacial Naruto coverage of the volumes that won't appear in SJ (Volumes 16*-27)
December: Bonus: Read the original Naruto story that started it all.
January: The new Naruto saga begins and Naruto has a new look! The storyline jumps ahead two years after the events in volume 27, bringing new adventures and challenges for Naruto and his friends.

*This is odd, because by my calculations #56 holds the first four chapters of volume 16 and next issue we are promised FIVE FULL CHAPTERS OF NARUTO! "A conspiracy from the past returns to haunt Naruto!"

Issue 56's Naruto chapters end with the Third Hokage's funeral (that chapter begins with Itachi and Kisame, in color, returning to tHLV).

EDIT: By the way, as part of the new 'Art Jam' section on page 352, Hiromi Hasegawa () and Urian Brown (One Piece editor) submitted their own fanart (Hasegawa draws Light Yagami as Hikaru Shindo, Ryūk as Sai, and L as Akira Toya while Brown draws Wapol: Toaster form, saying "Why, that's rye!")

If Viz wants to continue being difficult and not give One Piece a better release, I assume this is how the rest of the year'll play out:

September:

140. Castle in the Snow (雪の住む城, Castle in the Snow?)
141. Quack Doctor (ヤブ医者, Quack Doctor?)
142. Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms (ドクロと桜, Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms?)

October: (Note: Final three chapters of book 16)

143. Unskilled (不器用, Unskilled?)
144. Snowy Tale (雪物語, Snowy Tale?)
145. Carrying on His Will (受け継がれる意志, Carrying on His Will?)

November and beyond!: (Note: Begins volume 17...with TEN chapters)

Now, this is tricky. With ten chapters Viz COULD ultimately just do five issues of two chapters each, which would piss a lot of us off, but with Naruto Nation stealing all of that space, it could happen. I can see November and December having two chapters each, or rather, three chapters, and three more in Jan. and one in February. Then again, Viz likes to release One Piece quarterly. With volume 16 coming out in November 6, 2007 that means that 140-142 will be printed in #57 (September 2007), and 143-145 in #58 (October 2007). Should we assume that we'll have to wait four more months for book 17 like how we had to wait four months between 14 and 15?

We're looking at something like this (unless Viz will print five chapters per issue or go to bimonthly volumes):

3 chapters in two upcoming issues, 2 chapters in up coming issues (in any possible combinations). Or, five issues with two chapters in them, that would mean five bloody months without a new volume released, but then again, volume 18 has ELEVEN chapters. Will they try to publish three chapters for the next seven issues?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VIZ MAKE HULK ANGRY!!!!!!!!!

I think they will replace YGO with YGOR.

My guess is Bo^7'll get more room when SK doesn't come back next issue.

EDIT: Alright, SJ claims that another title will end in December. Ten chapters of YGO have not been published. I predict...

September: 2 (334-335)
October: 2 (336-337)
November: 2 (338-339)
December: 4 (340-343)

Naruto was on the cover this month.

A good job on the Millennium World chapters? We must be reaching the point where Viz decide if they use Atem or Atemu...

I can only get Jump very rarely, but its still a bit sad to see Shaman King go. Sure, it'll be printed more often now in GN, but we all know what happened to Duelist when it left Jump. As for more Naruto, that makes me angry....

And Bo^7, does it start from the beginning this time? If not, that makes hulk angry too.

Ah, yes...I remember the people on Janime making a big deal out of this.

Personally, I'm not a Naruto fan (and if you had an older brother and his kid performing random jutsus on each other, you wouldn't be, either). I think they're just plain over-marketing Naruto, although its popularity's undeniable. Give other manga a chance, Viz! It's kinda your fault if the animé's moving too fast...

Has anyone read Kurohime? It sounds interesting...and I'm just going by the title.

There's a manga currently printed in Weekly Shonen that I want to see come over to NA

That manga is Mx0 if anyone's heard of it

Bo^7 began last issue with 110. >_>

Viz is using Atem.

Because YGO will end in four issues I assume we'll have two chapters for the next two issues, then two issues of three.

Yeah. YYH has been getting really, really awesome ever since I subscribed to SJ. I loved the Kaito chapters especially.

I find it strange that Bobobo still doesn't start from the beginning. First we get a single manga volume that takes place at some random time in the story, then we get serialized chapters beginning in the hundreds? Just...why?

And once again, I'm with everyone else - more Naruto = meh.

Has anyone read the early Bobobo chapters? Is there any logical reason why Viz skipped them? Are they not funny or something?

And I guess I'll have to start buying Shaman King gn'sShaman King's a nice story, the art gets a little hard on the eyes sometimes but I'm a fan. And that's saying a lot, because few anime/manga interest me beside Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm a little sad that the series was considered unpopular.

*Is still angry that he has to wait nearly a year for Millennium World Volume 6* I mean, Volume 5 was good but it's hardly gonna last me a year, is it? I just want to see Viz's real good work on YGO, when all I see is their half-arsed Duelist every other month.

Is Naruto really THAT good to deserve domination of Jump? I don't think so.

I don't think so either. I don't find it horrible, per se, but it really doesn't deserve any more of SJ's devotion than YGO, or any of their other serialized manga for that matter.

I'll take more One Piece over more Naruto, but that's just me.

Ryusaki-kun might want to have a spare change of pants on when he sees this new volume 37 summary on viz.com (http://www.viz.com/products/products.php?product_id=6568)

What's wrong with that? *Sees date*

Yeah, I might as well just change clothes altogether. Damn October 2nd. I want my Viz Box O' Doom-free volume now! It'd be fine if they started releasing Shonen Jump over here...

Yugi and Kaiba fight their final duel! One will lose, and the other will go to meet the greatest Egyptian God, the Sun Dragon Ra! But can anyone defeat the ultimate God Card in the hands of its master, the mad Marik? Or will they fall victim to the terrible prophecy: "In an instant Ra shall become a phoenix...and the enemies of Ra shall return to the earth..."I have to say, Duelist did a nice job on the Ra text.

Look at the page count, though.

No more reason to complain, eh? Not like you didn't have any reason to, those books were getting really small.
