I heard it's not as good, IMO but what exactly are you supposed to do that's better in this one than colosseum? it seems the same to me but that's my opinion

can anyone tell me if it's good?

and what are the cons and pros of it?

In terms of gameplay it is similar to PC. I liked it though, and thought it was worth the $. Only thing was it doesn't really have much replay value.
You could prolly pick up one used for a good deal and that would def be worth it imo.

Got XD?

I think it's better. New storyline, More pokemon, and Shadow Lugia of course.

I got a used one for $26.99 at EB Games. It has new areas as well as some old ones. I really enjoy it. I got mine about a month ago. The shadow pokes are fairly easy to catch except I did have a little trouble getting the legendary birds do to the fact that the one Cipher has a full pack of 6 shadow pokes to get. But at least you can re-battle him to get the ones you missed. Anyway, You don't need to do the 100 trainer challenge to get Lugia which I thought was nice. Also, you can catch wild pokemon at poke spots. I liked the story line. If you can get a used game, then it's worth buying.

Colosseum is great, but XD is so much better. Better story, better graphics, better shadow attacks, no annoying hyper mode, it's all good. I know Colosseum and XD aren't that popular, but I personally loved this game and think it deserves more praise than it got. The whole Shadow Pokemon thing is a great twist on the Pokemon series, and well-executed it is. If you like Pokemon, you'll like this game.

Although there is no hyper mode, there is a reverse mode which does damage as soon as it goes into reverse mode. At least with hyper mode, it don't do immediate damage. None the less, XD, I thought was a little better than Colosseum as far as a story line goes, more pokes to catch and you get Lugia during story mode.

I find Reverse mode less annoying than Hyper mode because Reverse mode happens much less frequently, and it doesn't cause the Pokemon to completely lose its turn. Wasting turn after turn in Colosseum because of Hyper mode is really frustrating.

Oh and another thing I love about XD is that purification is so much faster and easier thanks to the Purify Chamber. Why go to all the trouble of battling with the shadow Pokemon when you can just stuff them in a machine?

I finally bothered to purify all the shadow Pokemon in Colosseum, and the process was so painfully slow. Ho-Oh was worth it, but still!

I like XD better due to the fact that you don't have to go to a Pokemon center anymore to save the game, you can save anywhere, just like in the other games.

I also love the fact that some of my favorites are now Shadow Pokemon.

i.e. Lugia, Electabuzz, Magmar, Dragonite, Lapras, Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, and Tauros.

Yeah, the ability to save anywhere is often taken for granted. When you play a game without that ability, you really miss it.
