Anyone ever get a Mew from that mall tour?

I remember there being a mall tour in the Red/Blue days which was a competition for the video game and card game. I remember the promotion was having a Mew transferred to each participants game with the OT being "Mario" (which I thought was great). Did anyone else get this?

I don't remember a mall tour for Mew but I guess it doesn't matter since i tend to use the glitch instead.

I remember reading about that tour in Beckett Pokemon Collector Magazine. There was no chance the tour would ever come near me though because I lived in a small town in South Dakota (still do). Of course, when I read about it I already had a Mew which I had acquired through the use of either the glitch or a Game Genie code, so I didn't need to get the promo one anyway.

I'm glad I didn't, cuz I didn't know about pkmn genes back then, and I would've never restarted my game, and then years later I would've discovered it to have been all in vain due to imperfect genes (I've recently become a sharker).

What are you talking about? Were the "official" Mews flawed in some way? What do you mean by "imperfect genes?"

All but 1/>65k nonsharked pkmn are flawed. Each individual pkmn has a seperate gene for each of its stats. Depending on how bad the gene is, that particular pkmn's max stat can be up to 30 LESS THAN the maximum for its species. In other words, there are some Mews (and every other pkmn) whose Special (and every other stat) will, even when maxed, ALWAYS BE LOWER than the Special stat of some other Mews. Genes are randomly generated and can't be changed without a hacking utility, and as I mentioned, the chance of a pkmn having perfect genes by chance is less than 1 in 65000.
