Last week was our first tournament(sealed) but this week was our first constructed. It was unsanctioned due to only 5 people and the fact my store was still working on becoming a seven host. I was pleased with the fact we got the five to start with plus 2 people bought starters and two yugi-oh kids wanted to learn(WOuld have taught them but we were in the middle of a round and they left before I could teach them but I told them to come back next week and I would).
The Deck: THe deck I ran used The Ichigo guardian and made use of the Kurosaki family plus some good characters who were easily played. Had some defense stuff but not much though(didn't have the stuff I wanted) wasn't helpless though. Just a stright forward deck.
Round 1: Kurosaki Family Vs Menos Swarm. Great... A fast deck. I knew my deck wasn't that fastso I had my money on Menos. Game one started with Menos getting stuff out quickly with me getting stuff bigger and bigger. He was leading me in power when he attacked full on. i had Yuzu-out in the cold renewed and blocked the last attack which left me with 1 power left. He had the more characters but mine where bigger and he had no one to block with. I drew three and just barely managed to boost for the win. It was that close. Game 2, opponet dropped Karakura Town first turn, I cried. Second turn he dropped ray hollow, hexapodus, and tribal hollow. Yeah... surprisingly he ended up winning that one. Game three I was in a good position. Kept pressure on him, he didn't get the amazing draw he did last game though(the poor fellow) but he was going for menos Lurker. He was one turn away from dropping him too before I killed him with another boost rush. (But I had balance of souls so I wasnt worried)
Winner: Kurosaki Family
Round 2: Kurosaki Family vs Chad. What can I saw. My opponet had sweet shades on and proceeded to drop 1-2 drops all game while boosting. Game one He pounded me. Game two I surprised myself by winning that game(thanks to getting board control). Game thre he swarmed and pounded me rather easily. Not even close that game.
Round 3: got the bye(The other one who was up for it didn't want it). I had to leave the tournament before round 3 was over with but we started late while waiting for someone to show up. I believe the way things turned out I was in either 2or 3. The chad deck from round 2 was most likely the winner.
Over all I was pleased with my preformance. The two decks I went up against where made by the people who spent the most on cards so far(they shared cards and I believe they had 3-4 boxes bought so far) Next week I'm gonna roll in with a modified deck from my current version. Hope to have more people show up and hope to face off with different people than I did this tournament.
