How to start playing?

I've heard about this game for sometime, and I think I would like to try it out but our local stores refuses to order any new games at this time. If I was to order some boxes offline what would I need to get to actually be able to start playing. Would the Competition packs be what I was looking for? (I need some way to explain the rules and everything to friends while at the same time amassing some card stock to play with)

The comp packs are cool because they contain resources and your friends could play sealed games with comp packs and regular packs, but the best way to just pick up some cards and go are the precon decks. They are often used to demo the game and they are fairly easy to use and see. Once you do that, you can get some comp packs and maybe a box and go from there.

Not in the Bay Area are you? Just thought I would ask.

Cool thanks, I wasn't sure what all the differences where, I'm use to games having Boosters and Starters so I didn't know what the Comp Packs where lol. Nope over in Southern Indiana. No one here plays the game, but thats mostly because our store is nonresponsive to ordering new games. Heck it took them almost four months after WoW TCG came out before they thought that was worth ordering so anything from a smaller company is almost impossible to get them to carry unless there are people with cards already that are wanting to play. So I am hoping to get it started around here.
