I'm copying and pasting an "article" that I just wrote, which are basically just my notes on building an Oriss lock deck.
Note how I'm almost 100% sure that this deck went from being focused on Oriss to like. Not even lol.
I'll test on Apprentice later today against as many decks as I can, so right now I have no results for it.

Summary: I want to make a deck for GP San Francisco that's original or new. I've decided I want to abuse Oriss, Samite Guardian.
Staples
-Oriss, Samite Guardian x4
Problem: How to recur Oriss?
Answer: Undertaker x4
Adder: What about other recursion? Let's say...
Answer: Call to the Netherworld x4
Question: Now we're a white/black build. How do I find this mana?
Answer: Terramorphic Expanse x4, Grove of the Burnwillows x4, Graven Cairns x4, Dakmor Salvage, New Benalia, Zoetic Cavern (?)
Question: Only that? What about creatures, how are you going to stop say White Weenie or aggro?
Answer: Desert x4, Damnation x?, Dawn Charm
Question: Now you're ignoring U/B Control and Pickles. They're the most viable decks right now, how do you say "no" to them?
Answer: Extirpate, Celestial Crusader, Sudden Death, Angel's Grace
Question: Guess what? LD Force is the top deck right now. It uses crazy mana accel, followed by a lot of land destruction in the form of Detritivore/Boom and Bust/etc. and uses Scryb Ranger along with freakin Spectral Force, Bogardan Hellkite, Avalanche Riders, etc. How can you top THAT?
Answer: No deck can destroy the metagame completely.
Current decklist:
Lands
4x Desert <- Anti-Aggro, still taps for colorless. Besides, this is W/B control >=]
4x Horizon Canopy <- Card draw. AND lets me get into a green splash for Quagnoth.
4x Graven Cairns <- Might go down to 2x, but this is a neat card for double black ad such. Also opens me to red in case I need it, for say Rakroma.
4x Dakmor Salvage <- Great little card for dredging out Oriss.
4x New Benalia <- Oh this card is beautiful. Scry 2? Wow.
4x Gemstone Mine <- This deck NEEDS these beauties.
4x Terramorphic Expanse <- Necessity
Now we've hit a stump. Too many nonbasic lands, what the hell is Terramorphic here for? 28 lands, yuck. And it gets thrashed by Detritivore. Let's fix this up right now.
Desert: Not 100% needed, let's face it.
-4 Desert
Horizon Canopy: Keeper.
Graven Cairns: Keeper.
Dakmor Salvage: Reduce to 2
-2 Dakmor Salvage
New Benalia: Is scrying ONE really that great? Maybe. Let's test it.
Gemstone Mine: Uh... keep.
18 lands. I want 22.
Bring back Deserts.

4x Desert (Colorless mana, anti-aggro)
4x Horizon Canopy (Green, White, card draw)
4x Graven Cairns (Black, Red, provided I have another Black/Red enabler)
2x Dakmor Salvage (Mr. Dredge, might prove to be unnecessary)
4x New Benalia (Test run only, might not even make the cut. CIP tapped makes it a bad card.)
4x Gemstone Mine (Necessity)
Okay, I already don't like the list.

Graven Cairns is unnecessary. Same for New Benalia, I can find other cards to scry with. This leaves us with nine open land slots. I've opted for 23.
Also, Desert doesn't look so good anymore. At least until I say hello to aggro decks. 13 land slots open.

Xx Mindless Automaton <- I KNOW, nice draft card. But seriously, card drawing engine.
4x Street Wraith <- Card draw engine!
Xx Aven RIFT WATCHER (I swear the profanity filter is useless) <- Awesome life gaining card, great in block.
Xx Celestial Crusader <- Works wonders against control builds.
Xx Magus of the Moat <- Prevents ground aggro
Xx Magus of the Tabernacle <- Kataki, Creature's Wage =P
Xx Seht's Tiger <- Good protection, 3/3 for 4.
