can u get 1 without Gameshark or action replay or any of that stuff? i heard u can get 1 from doin sumthing at the S.S. Anne after u beat the elite four but its not back at the port for me yet...

i also heard if u beat the elite four using only 1 pokemon u get him...i tired and succeeded but it didnt work...unless u have to go get him from sum1 afterwards or sumthin

The Youngster with a Slowpoke can be replaced with the first trainer in Misty's Gym as well to get another Mew.

that is 151% FALSE! i tohught is was more than common knowledge that you can use the "longrange trainer" method to capture any pokemon, check out :

no it's 100% true, i quoted it from my nintendo power thingy and you can't exceed 100% k_poz everyone knows that, and there are ways to get around the restriction that nintendo made since r/b versions have so so many flaws in their design like the way you people did, my quota was just to show you the only legal way to get it, i have a mew too (heh heh mew too - mewtwo) but i used gameshark and then traded to my silver so stop hasling me!!

i have an idea for you, try the tips that busterslash35 posted. and we all know that you can't exceed 100%. the glitch wasn't discovered until after the nintindo power was printed.

I am not sure if this is true or not but, I heard that if you beat the Elite 4 100 times Lance will give you a tm called Blast. Teach it to a pokemon then once in pallet town go west to that wall that blocks you off from that grassy area. Use Blast on the wall and you can go into the grassy area. In that grassy area I think they said there were some Mew and Togepie. I dont know if this is true but. Oh also another way I heard was first get all 150 pokemon the fly to safferon city. Goto the person next to the pokemart. He says that he will trade you a mew for every pokemon you have. This can easly avoided by getting Pokemon Stadium and putting ever one of the pokemon that you want into the pc box on stadium. Then just trade. I dont know if this way is true either but o well.

What if you've already battled them?

Won't work then. You NEED a trainer that you haven't battled that sees you as you step on screen. I use the guy in the small vertical patch on grass northwest of Cerulean.

None of that makes any sense.

I'm surprised ANY Mew trick works after so many years. I guess this new one does work though. Why do they put these impossible to get pokemon in the games anyway?

k, you all know the interrupted battle glitch right? well you do that but instead of getting the pokemon straight away, go to rock tunnel and make sure you get attacked by a golbat. then try to leave Lavender and a mew SHOULD attack but not always. Often if it is not a mew it will be a lapras, arcanine, or shellder or another pokemon i cant remember what it is though.
I'm sure it is true and it works, I made this up on my own by accident but so far I have acquired 15 mews from this cheat and I'M NOT DONE YET!!!

You can use Gamefaqs to catch mew, i've done it. But when i tryed to trade it to Crystal my game froze right when it came out of the pokeball. I had to turn my game off and when i did Mew was nowhere to be found, not on my Red or Crystal.
