Today, some friends and me decided to buy a UFS deck each one(I get a Nightmare deck). And obviusly i have some questions:

1) Each character has some specific strategy? (Mass damage, stall,...).Tell me some examples

2) A n00b one: Can you explain me how works the have X character cards in the deck? (Excluding the Main one obviusly).

3) Tell me good cards for the Nightmare deck

4) You think they'll release more Videogame-based cards? (Like Guilty Gear, Tekken or Melty Blood)

1. well it all depends on the character and which version. There are 3 main deck themes in UFS, Aggro (damaged based deck, lots of boosts and/or high attacks to deal massive damage). Then there Control (which varies from field, hand, deck, ect... which is basically centered around limiting what your opponent can do (ie. discarding their hand, committing their field, and or reducing their control checks). Then theres Hybrid which is a combo of both Aggro and Control (say use discard and then hit with a big attack) Usually Fire, Earth, Life, Good and Air decks centralize on Aggro though there are some exceptions. Water, Evil, Death, Order, and Void are usually control. And Chaos and All can swing either way or both (hybrid). Some good control characters are Nightmare, Cervantes, Promo Tira, promo Rose. Some good Aggro are Adon, Blanka (if done right), Sagat.

2. umm not sure what you mean? You can have any number of character cards in a deck, but only 4 of each rarity (i.e. you can have x4 *Tira*, x4 **Tira**, and x4 ***Tira***, but no more of each then 4. Your starting character counts toward this, so if you start with ***Tira***, you can only have up to x3 other copies in your deck)

3. depends on which Nightmare and what you are running him off of. Evil is a great symbol, so is Death. you can check here and view cards by their symbol or even type http://www.twoheadeddragon.com/node/21

4. yes, they will, in November DarkStalkers will be released, and they have hinted at some other games like Devil may Cry (I think thats the correct name, never played the game). I have heard many people say they want Tekken to join but I haven't heard anything as of yet.

1) Well, it's already been pointed out, but I'll just help on the attributes:

All: Diversity, which makes All (IMO) the best resource symbol out there
Void: Control and/or Discard. In line with All for "What is the best symbol?"
Life: Gaining Vitality.
Death: Huge attacks, winning fast, death XD.
Chaos: Gaining Momentum.
Order: Skill (no clue how to word this). Alot of Order cards allow for the re-use of other cards, and allow for much skill and fluidity.
Good: Reversals
Evil: Manipulating opponent's control checks so they fail and end their turn.
Fire: Fast or powerful attacks.
Water: Fluid motion (I have no clue how to describe Water since I think it sucks). Water has lots of Multiples.
Wind: Quick attacks, OHKOs (One-Hit Knock Outs, or ways to do so)
Earth: Damage Reduction, Throws

2) The guy above already got it. A few things to keep in mind about Characters:

a: If your character has a really good counterpart you want to stack on top, try to make sure its counterpart has the same symbol you're running your main off of so that you don't devote 1 full turn to simply stacking then ending.
b: Characters are good for blocking and passing checks, so anywhere from 4-8 are the recommended. Sure, you CAN run a successful deck with NONE in your deck, if you so choose...but those +0-MID blocks and 6 checks are simply life-savers.
c: With cards like Soul Power running amock, once your opponent catches onto what symbol you're using, they'll negate it. Therefore, it's advised you possibly run your characters off a DIFFERENT symbol, so they can't predict it. The only reason why this method is tricky is because: most attacks/foundations in your deck SHOULD have blocking symbols, meaning if your character runs primarily off Evil, yet your character-blocks run off of Death, your attacks/foundations better have blocks too (which works great in Nightmare)

3) Well...I personally built a Death-Evil Hybrid of Nightmare...but if you were to ask: "Which one: Death or Evil?" Death is the way to go for a big guy like Nightmare. However, I'll give you some Ancient Insight into my madness at the end of my rant ^_~

4) Yes, we've got 2 more packs coming out in May (Street Fighter: Extreme Rivals, Soulcalibur III: Blades of Fury), as well as Darkstalkers coming out in...well, no OFFICIAL release date has been...released >_>. Yes, most people believe that, because UFS has Soulcalibur III, a Namco property, that Tekken should be in the cards (as Tekken is simply one of the most popular fighters out there). There have been MANY recommendations out there (Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Primal Fury, Red Earth, Battle Arena Toshinden, Virtual Fighter, various anime properties). I haven't heard anything about Devil May Cry, mostly because of the lack of characters you could run, but hey, we all got surprised by Penny Arcade...

Anyways...

Ideal Build of **Nightmare**

Starting character: **Nightmare**

Characters:

4x *Nightmare*
4x ***Nightmare***

Good ol stackers. Both possess Death and Evil, so if you go with my ideal Nightmare build, they'll help with Blocking diversity, as well as stacking onto one another to create a deadly, broken, Nightmare sandwich XD.

Bigender foundations:

Megalomania
Unknown Force

Death-Evil foundations that go with Nightmare's theme of complete and total negation, obliteration, control, and destruction.

Death-only foundations:

Calm Mind
Ancient Insight
Yoga Mastery
Friends and Rivals

The first two go with **Nightmare**'s easy ability to discard from their hand, Mastery is simply a staple, and Friends and Rivals, with a Megalomania and Unknown Force out = they play an attack and commit 4 foundations O_O

Evil-only foundations:

Float Like a Butterfly
Beginner's Luck
Apathy
Dirty Pool

Float is a staple to any deck that can run it IMO, and Beginner's Luck is just slightly below it. Apathy is a great card when ran together with Megalomania and/or Friends and Rivals, and Dirty Pool, while rather difficult to execute in a Nightmare deck, can help make your attack unblockable (which, usually Nightmare runs Tiamat's Rampae)

Bigender attacks:

Drop Kick
Evil Eye
Helm Divider
Nergal's Poison Sting
Bell Ringer

The top 4 are great attacks because they are all low difficulty 3-check block-possessing cards, and Bell Ringer is just...good XD.

Evil-Only attacks:

Buffalo Headbutt
Low Dash

Balrog's attacks are simply amazing; blocks, 3-checks, wo wo wee wa XD. Buffalo Headbutt gives all your control checks +1 if it deals damage, and has a Powerful 2, and Low Dash is just...a low for 5 damage O_O.

Death-Only attacks:

Tiamat's Rampage

The important thing to keep in mind is that this card does have Earth as does...well, MOST of the attacks mentioned. Tiamat should be your finisher, as it has Stun: 3 (as if you haven't already tapped enough of their stuff -_-) and Powerful: 4.

So yeah, there ya go. Good luck man. ;)
