Ok, so I'm going to get D/P next month, and start doing Wifi battles. I need some help making a superb team of Pokemon that you can get in Fire Red and Emerald. I don't really need movesets or anything, but if you want to provide them that's fine.

If you feel like it, I'd also like some help on what to replace for D/P Pokemon if any.

Well, keep a few things in mind (Just in case you didn't already know):

Hidden power goes out the window. You don't have control over the IV's, so the odds of getting good nature + the right IVs is just... really, really low. It's always a good idea to check the hidden power on something like zapdos and whatnot, but don't count on it being HP Ice/Grass and 69/70 power.

Target stat values. Tyraniboah for instance, must have maximum HP IVs if you want to get 101 substitutes. The odds of quiet nature + 31 HP IV is 1 to 800. That's a lot of breeding. Also it can be difficult to exactly hit things like 264 speed on a dragon dancer. If you can clone rare candies, this is remedied (You can just candy them up to 50, use an IV calculator, and give them EVs accordingly).

Anyway, past that...

I'd be happy to help, but is there anything in particular you want? I mean, there are tons of good pokemon, but is there a particular strategy you want the team to revolve around? Or just a team that we think will do well come D/P?

I don't really need it to revolve around anything. Like I said, the only things are that I must be able to get them in either Fire Red or Emerald, which means no Celebi, etc. And no one-of Pokemon. The reason for that is that I can get 3 perfect IVs of my choice and the right Nature on any Pokemon using the Ditto trick in Emerald, so I need to be able to breed the Pokemon to perfection. ^_^

Don't bother suggesting D/P Pokemon right now, now that I think about it. I'm going to wait to see if the Ditto trick will still be around in D/P.

Ditto trick? You mean it's possible to rig IVs? Gay >_<

No, it isn't rigging them really. It isn't cheating at all. It's just a form of breeding to get 3 perfect IVs of your choice.

For example, you can use the Ditto Breeding Technique to get a Metagross with Adamant Nature, and an IV of 31 in Atk, Spd and HP.

Care to explain how? All I can think of is a bug atm. The IVs are random, but in breeding the overall IVs are higher and the child inherits a few IVs from the parents. The selected IVs that are passed down are random.

Is there a way to control which IVs get passed down or something?

<25> Dittos : Each Nature named after the Nature.
<6> Dittos : Each Stat IV = 31 <Hp / Att / Def / Sat / Sdf / Spd> Named Differently.

1) Breed the (Nature) Ditto with (Pokemon) you want and get a Female pokemon you want - strap an Everstone on her.

2) Breed a (Stat) Ditto with (Pokemon) until you get male (Pokemon) with 31 Stat.

3) Breed male (Pokemon - 31 Stat) with female (Pokemon w/Nature) and get a female (Pokemon w/31 Stat + Nature). Strap Everstone on her.

4) Repeat Step #2 but with a different 31 IV.

5) Repeat Step #3 but with female (Pokemon w/31 Stat + Nature) and male (Pokemon) from Step #4. until you get female (Pokemon w/<2> 31 IV Stats + Nature). Strap Everstone on her.

6) Breed 3rd (31 IV Stat) Ditto with male (Pokemon) with the Egg Moves / Tm's you want passed on until you get male (Pokemon w/Stat + Egg Moves).

7) Breed female (Pokemon w/<2> 31 IV Stats + Nature) with male (Pokemon w/Other Stat + Egg Moves) until you get a (Pokemon w/<3> 31 IVs Stat + Nature + Egg Moves). Remember to name it what you want because this is your Prize.

I forgot about everstone... so I guess getting the nature you want isn't that hard.

I would probably try that if I had the time... Seems like an awful lot of work to do that for six different pokemon. I might do that once for my favorite pokemon or something. Plus getting all those damned dittos would be a pain... If you got the dittos already though, it doesn't sound too bad.

I hate working from scratch. Name your favorite OU/BL pokemon and/or moveset and I'll suggest something working around that.
