Thousands, easily. And I don't even bother with buying boosters anymore. I get all my stuff online simply because I don't have the patience for scaling and I hate trading with kids who ask for ungodly exchanges. It's more expensive but I can ensure quality and that I'm not getting jipped.

hmmm....*rubs chin*...I'd say...damn...$1500..omg...wow.
but even if I spent that much, the experiences I had and the happy memories I think of...I look at it and realize that its not a waste, Ive met friends and good people thru YGO, so...I think that is a price I could pay anyday, some people may think of it as a waste of money and a sign of needing a life, but I call it a "fine investment in the larger world," good times/good friends/good experience.

-3x DDA
-2x Lily
-1x Dimension Fusion
-2x X-Force
-5x Decree (Parallel Rares)
-3x Banisher
-3x Widespread Ruin
-1x Morphing jar
And before that, off the top of my head:
-couple boxes of FET (Damn you elusive bird)
-Tourny costs
-Costs to go to Last Years Nats/SJC in Hamilton
-Buying random cards over the years
-3x SD10
I don't want to add it up.

Ive been playing for 5 years. Two of my decks have been stolen. My current deck costs around $200-$300. There are only a few commons and everything else is either Ultimate, Secret, or Ultra. Since I go to alot of the sneak previews and spend around $200 each time I dont know the exact amount. Oh and I buy alot of tins lol. Ive been spending alot of money recently (like the last couple months).

yugioh is like drugs
i bought a card trooper for $65
the next day i bought another one for $65
and the day after dat, i bought another one for the same price
i buy 5 booster packs every week ($5 each)
ive been playing for like 4 years so i spent at least $5200 on booster packs
i bought many single cards played in many torneys/sneak previews
so for my yugioh career i spent over $7500

07-06-2007, 10:03 PM
I have spent about $1500 in 3 years.
Now, I have 4 decks, 4 side-decks for them & 4 lots of about 20 cards which can be used in each deck & suits each theme. I have a few decent trades, but nothing too flash. I am not making anymore decks either at this stage (until something interests me) & there's not really much I need. I will always buy 1-2 boosters of each latest set, just to say "I have bought them", but apart from that, I don't buy cards anymore at all..online/offline or w/e. If I don't have all the cards I need to run my 4 decks already, I'd prefer to dismantle them & trade them off. Its a very good thing I have not needed to do this. A lot of my decks get a new look each week. My Burn Deck has gone from Burn, to Final Countdown, to Deckout & back to Burn again, just by changing half a doz cards in it. My Aggro decks can easily be changed into Control Decks & vice versa. Coming up with the right "combo" is hard & takes time, but that's what makes the game fun.
Basically though, if I don't already got it, chances are I don't need it.

Single Cards: £300/$600
Structure decks: 20 x £10/$20 = £200/$400
Starter Decks: 5 x £10/$20 = £50/$100

I got a lot of my stuff from judging, but then I also went through a lot of times where I'd either sell my comp or get VS or WOW for judging. I also sold a lot of my cards a while back when I needed the money, so I'd say I came pretty close to breaking even overall on the game.

04-29-2009, 03:43 AM
Man I think I got everyone beat so far... I've been playing since 2003 and I've spent 2k+ every year since I've been playing. Between buying boxes, packs, collections, and singles. That's not to include the accessories. So I've spent 14k+ since I've been playing. I've been in Iraq for 4 months now and I have already spent 1K+ since I've been here.
Every time I quit I make it all back + more so in the end it is all worth it. I even play for money so that's fun and makes me money. I played Jason Holloway for money at SJC Durham and won, it was cool to beat him he's really c o c k y but he's a cool dude.

I would imagine around $200-$250 has gone into my shenanigans since I started competitively last summer, although I've probably sold my way back down to $150. My friend and I have a collection worth well over $600, so I think we've done pretty well up until now.

I spent over $20,000 since 2002 and I have not won a SJC to make up for it. It's a sad tragedy story much like the trap card Tragedy. I fill into Konami's trap almost like Casino's slot machine. :(
I'n this topic I want to ask how much money do you think you have spent on Yugioh cards and accesories......I think i have spent around $3,000 if not more on my collection.

Hrm.
Since SDY and LOB...
I'd estimate £1000 or less. No more.
I bought: Master Collections 1 and 2, Gold Series 1, (soon some of GS2), over 5 tins, Random cards, lots of my sleeves and binders, boxes, etc (like £50) and a bunch of other stuff.
*sigh*
I forgot the structures and video games.... My Xbox video chip melted too

Oh yeah.
Structures.
6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6 (some multiples)
That leaves me in the hundreds.
AND DUEL DISKS!

Only time trading bigger and better, I personally invest no finance on this or any game. I believe time and dedication is worth more than gold.

I know of 2 guys and money with Yugioh. 1st. One guy at a shinder's spent 600 bucks in a hour span.
Another guy I know between buying and selling, has spent roughly $10,000. Over the last 3 or so years. That's not including World of Warcraft TCG and a little bit of magic the gathering.

With my money, not much, probably around $200 since I started in PSV.
Including the stuff people have bought for me? Easily $1000, probably more.

Over the course of 8 years I'd say about $500-$700. Jeez when you really look at it you spend a lot of money in total and not even realize it:o

I have kept up over the years with all the money I've spent on Yugioh down to the cent so that in 15 years when Yugioh is gone I'll know how much money I could have had to go towards my trip to some island somewhere.
The current amount is= $4342.78
