these are horrible decks lol they are just bad i mean wow it seems like the meta is regressing to back when lob was out, some of these cards are insanely bad, the half decent one i see is the babbon deck, and it isn't that good. god help the japanese. did gors get an unexpected banning like stein or something?

Really janky, but I see the strategies in them.

What did you expect? The Miso-G tournaments are the equivalent of a local tournament, with an appropriately sized field (usually 16-20). It's a small tournament, and not at all representative of Japan's metagame as a whole.

On that note, I'd have to agree that the decks are not all that spectacular, to say the least.

wtf at the second deck!!!

Some of the Miso-G decks aren't all bad, some in the past have been fairly decent though did have a few odd card choices, but that second deck looks like a bad hand nightmare.

The Baboon deck puzzles me as well,I can understand using lv3 Beasts for Rescue cat but Wicked wurm beast?Apart from a lone Creature swap combo how is that better than Crazy beast that actually has a good effect?Plus just 2 Foolish burials on there own is a sure way of never getting Green Baboon out when you need it most to take advantage of lame beasts getting destroyed.

No Goes maindecked either except in one sideboard...

Can you choose to return the Worm Beasts to the hand rather then them being destroyed?

If so i guess he did it for the instant +1?

lol, I actually like these decks. Perhaps Miso-G has a gentlemans ban on Meifu no Shisha Goes. Or they just beat up anyone who runs him :D

They look interesting to say the least...They obviously work, but look quite antique in they're design.

I input the second deck in YVD to get a handle on how it plays, and it isn't really that bad. The D.D. trainers a decent turn one set, as is germ, and sangan. Manju Gets advanced ritual technique quickly and you almost allways get one of the ritual monsters or spells in the opening hand, though i'm not sure I would have chosen the Masked Beast over a second of Zorc or Demise. ART sets up either 2 Archfiend Soldiers or 1 Summoned skull and 2 D.D. trainers to your graveyard, which you can then remove for necrofear or recycle for avarice or Dark factory of mass production.

Looks like its run OTKish, by summoning as much as possible in a turn to overwhelm the opponant.

Wow...what's going on with 2nd place? Masked Beast?!

3rd place looks really nice, though. Looks like I'm not the only one who saw the potential in Premonition and Momongas...

You know why these decks did win? I think it's either:

1. All players were agreed not to play "good stuff"/old idea decks this time.

2. Maybe those players believe playing "good stuff" decks will hurt the game in long run.

3. Since most of the players from Miso related tournaments have blogs to report, it's a possibilty that everyone who enter Miso-G must have a blog on its own or else you can't enter?

Who knows why the Miso G decks always come out looking weird to those who play the TCG, but they're alot more interesting than the crap the TCG see's in top 8 deck lists. Atleast these people who made top 3 have enough brains to remember how originality works in a card game. Now if only we could find the real reason why they made decks like that...if it really is all about honor and such as Shion hints at, then that will suck for the TCG...

wat is E-Hero The Heat O_o

Elemental Hero The Heat
Attrib: Fire
Type: Pyro/Effect
Level:4
Atk: 1600
Def: 1200
This card gains 200 ATK for each for each face-up "Elemental Hero" monster on your side of the field.

Rescue Cat/Wicked Worm Beast combo is to fuel Manticores. If you don't use the WWB immediately, they will return to your hand at end of your turn for future use. Some people may use it as extra discard fodder for Lightning Vortex or Snipe Hunter etc.

These decks do not indicate what tier 1 decks are being run at major tournaments. The Miso-G guys simply wanted to try something different. Go ahead and laugh at them for "Not being a representative of Japan's metagame" all you want. I pity close-minded people.

The second part of my comment is not directed at OliverPhoenix.

There are some interesting sides to those decks as well. Cursed seal of the forbidden spell? Monarchs and Heavys Storm as well?

Miso-G doesnt reflect the true general nature of the Japanese metagame.

I really do like the Beast deck though.

Just to comment on the Rescue Cat/Wicked Worm Beast useage: This is a great idea. I was a huge RC user ever sinc eits release, and Wicked Worm beasts do 2 things for the deck that the deck needs. 1) They are high ATK earth mini-beasts, which when using a Gaea Power swarm deck, is important. 2) They return to hand instead of dying, which gives some card advantage. Personally, in heavy searcher decks, I like those extra cards to fuel Mallets, but you can do a lot with them.

However, these decks frighten me. I'm not sure what's going on with most of them.

The first deck is really playing with Heat's ability to gain 200 per E-Hero out with all the E-Hero recursion. The rest of the deck just being 'don't kill me'.

Is the Nationals the true indicator of the OCG Metagame?

These decks are a refresher. I enjoy that people who play for fun instead of saying" I wanna win, GGnore!1!211

Damn straight. I might try some of these decks out when the TCG gets their counterparts :D
