Coming up in February is the release of Street Fighter - The Dark Path (with promo card: Dan Hibiki) and Soul Calibur III - Soul Arena (with promo card: Seong Mi Na)

The starter decks are:

SF4: T. Hawk, Twelve, (evil) Ryu, Chun-Li

SC3: Abyss, Cervantes, Lizardman, Yoshimitsu

So, what're you going to get? I'm getting Lizardman, though Cervantes sure seemed tempting...

Supposedly the promo(s) is(are) one(two) that is(are) specifically designed for this sneak preview...


...now, I have reason to believe they'll be both Dan and Seong Mina, but, well, I spose we'll just have to see...

dan hibiki is going to have his own brawl event coming up near the end of february where you get one for entering and another for every round you win.

seong mina will be given out much like the promos chun-li/lien/xianghua/yo****ora were wherein when you buy 6 packs, you get her. that will also be coming up later on in the month if not next month (march).

the two promos for this week/end i believe are the new infinity promos, trade your passion for glory and eye of the tiger

we had our soul cal pre-release last night. i did terribly with yoshimitsu, but i got to see A LOT of the new stuff from the boxes people bought. there are so many split cards with high control checks on the attacks. we received eye of the tiger as our promo so i trade your passion for glory must be the one you get if you pick a street fighter starter deck.

I was very upset with this prerelease. I got THawk *I ALWAYS get the terrible characters and bad packs* and went like 1-3 scoopin to a friend. I want a damn Ultra Lizardman but no one around here has one =\. The set wasnt that amazing either really, althought my friend and I were impressed with the Rock support and made a hot rock deck ;).

are you on crack? this set has made T2K (turn 2 kills) incredibly consistent.

ryu's ashura senku + ur sagat + sig style = burn for game

condor spirit + Ur talim + any plinky fire attack = multiple til you die

manji ninjitsu + erode the human soul + (insert order character) = solitaire mill

this set is very defining as far as aggro getting a bit of a leg up on discard.

You know the Talim ultra has been errated to where you have to have the actual momentum to pull off the top right? And anything that could be considered OTK definatley isnt also considered consistant. If you or anyone, wants to discuss UFS im me at hoeycmmhoey. I have no one to talk about it with =[.

i'm aware of the errata on talim. though just managing one momentum is still very easy.

Then what do you mean, any plinky fire attack? There are still ways out of the combo obvioulsy, alot of ways.

Just any low check fire attack, like a one or a two.

Condor spirit gives them all multiple.

Yoga Mastery is a good card.

yoga mastery is a great card, but not every deck can run it, and not everyone feels comfortable enough to go for it turn 1.

If you dont feel comfortable enough to go for a 4 check turn 1 when you go second then you probably shouldnt be running that deck. And 80-90% of top tier decks DO run yoga mastery. Therefore most of the combos you listed probably wont see any competitive play at all. Ive seen very few non-void/all/death decks, that I would want to run at something like Worlds. There are a few water/winds one ive seen, but thats about it. Yoga will completley destroy any enhanced based deck, pure and simple.

Going second doesn't matter if you're dead on your first turn.

Not like it matters now, both Condor Spirit and Erode the Human Soul got the ban hammer.

Well, I got a Cervantes deck and miraculously managed to get 3 Spinning Fall Pogos, Achieving your Goals, and Merchant's Message.

I got into the top 8 in 8th place. I would've been higher, but I managed to get a Lizardman to 1 vitality before he defeated me :-/

8th place vs 1st, the guy in 1st was using TWELVE! >:|

I started off with an all-foundation hand. Sounds good right? It was...except for the fact that all my control checks were attack cards, and all my draws were foundations -_-

...nonetheless, I had a great time. Anybody here want to trade their Trade Your Passions?
