You know how, after you beat the first Golden Sun, you could save a file that wouldn't be playable, but it could be transferred to GS2? Well, you know how after you beat GS2, you can save a file that isn't playable? Of course you do. Does this lead anyone else to believe that there will be a third GS game, which you can transfer data into from GS2? I really hope so. I loved the first two, and in GS2, I played until my party passed lvl. 90. If this is a topic which has been posted before, I'm sorry, but I would really like your opinions.

I believe so, but I'm not getting my hopes up. If it's not out by next year, there most likely won't be one ever.

Way back in the past, when I was reading about the new Nintendo handheld, the "GameBoy Advance", which was coming out the next year (so a while back), it had a list of the launch titles, and some info about them. One of them was Golden Sun (which never made it to being a launch title). Anyway, in the description, it said it was the first of a trilogy.
So, that leads to a number of possible conclutions:
1. There will be a GS3.
2. There was going to be a GS3, but it was made into just GS2.
3. There never was going to be 3, the info was wrong.
I've not finished GS2 yet (I've been too busy), but if what you say about the save game at the end is true, then it looks hopeful. Without giving any spoilers to me, does the end of GS2 allow for a GS3 with the original chacters? Because if it doesn't (ie they all die or theres a definite end that can't allow a sequel), then there probably isn't.

It certainly is possible.... but what else is left to actually DO? I mean... alchemy was released and all that, everybodys' family is fine. Not much left I can think of they can actually DO.

The only other thing to do is what happened to Alex. Many think he survived. This is discussed a bit on Gamefaqs boards, so you can go read up on theories over thur.

Yes.
Thank you for your opinions. My hope is rekindled!

Check out the faqs over at gamefaqs. I think you have to compete in the Colosso event to progress the story.

I would so love a third golden sun. Although now I will make sure to remember NOT to name the main character Jenni. Like on the first two. Jenni, Jenni, and Jenna...not a good idea.

In response to the original post:
There is no "send" option that has been discovered yet. I don't know if anyone has hacked the game and confirmed that GS:TLA is only link comatable with GS and GS:TLA. If anyone finds an unidentifiable third source, then you can for sure expect another one.
The reason for saving a completed file is so you can play easy/hard modes.
Although I found the fact that Alex and Karst have names under five characters somewhat coincidental.
Alex is semi-immortal, so he almost for sure survived.

Alex was supposedly pretty strong, but you never actually fight him. But I loved his character, a spin off game about Alex would be great, considering you know next to nothing about him.

True, but what possibly could you do. It's called Golden Sun because when the Stars are put into the Lighthouses, alchemy is released and a Golden Sun rises on Mt. Aleph. I never actually beat The Lost Age, but I'm pretty sure that's what happens (the flying rock-eye said it would). If they did make a third one, it would be: 1) very boring 2) take place somewhere far away from the present land. (can't remember the name right now)
