i found an item called ????? and want to know what it does.

Its a glitch from MissingNo. and it does nothing. Lol, just takes up inventory space.

No.. missingNo. won't ruin your game.. just the hall of fame if you USE it. Other than that, only ~m~ will hurt the boxes.. And if you keep him for long.. I remember.. on my first try (i was 8), I caught missingNo. for the pickablu thing (yes I was that dum) and it screwed my graphics. I deposited it, and released it.. all was good except th HoF.

there is a procedure for catching missingno. if i remember right, it involves surfing to a specific spot to catch it.

missingno CAN corrupt your data totally too. the guide that i read about it in gave a proceedure for it, but gave a stern warning that catching it could totally ruin one's game.

missingno isn't supposed to be in the game. it was a prototype pokemon that was used for game testing that nintendo forgot to erase. that's probably why it can ruin one's game.

one time when i traded a cloned pokemon (something else that isn't recommended), my game hiccupped and my A & B buttons switched with my left and right buttons on their own! i couldn't even shut my game off until i found the settings menu where i could switch them back.

I got the ?????? item when I sharked my Yellow version I believe.. But it was so long ago I forgot exactly where..

My Hall of Fame was screwed up just by MEETING Minsingno (when cloning items). Needless to say, I never tried to catch it, the ones find in my games seam paticularly damaging if they can screw up the Hall of Fame with a simple meeting, I don't wish to catch it anyway.

I finally remember how and why i got it!!! i caught m and evolved it to kankgaskan, then used the missingno glitch to get master balls. i deposited the glitched balls to the box and when i went to retrieve them and found an item called ?????. why i got it? i was trying to get that special building in vermillion to appear.

PS: when i traded said kangaskan to gold, it was holding ?????.
