Avenger of Mythos

Fairly simple request, though it could take some time unless people are aware of good summary sites. I'm looking for a list of all the cards the characters either use or own before the manga battle with Ghost Kotzuya, mainly for Yugi, Seto and Jounouchi. Bakura too, if he's shown to use any cards before Battle City.

Also, I'm looking for either summaries or card lists for cards that were played by Bakura, Atem and Little Yugi during the Ceremonial Duel and the one preceeding it, so I can create some manga decks.

Anybody able to help or point me in the right direction?

It's Ghost Kotsuzuka.

What is "the one preceeding it" mean? Before the Battle Ritual? There aren't any duels except for the ones in Battle City.

Aren't there any duels before Ghost in this Duelist Kingdom arc of the manga? Edo's translations start from Volume 11, so effectively, I wanted to know of any cards played before Volume 11. And I've found summaries of the later battles, so that's okay. Now it's just for before Volume 11.

For what it may be worth, the character of Ghost Kotsuzuka was introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! Volume 11, Duel 88 (eng. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Volume 4, Duel 29), so there's nothing prior to that in the manga.

This corresponds to Episode 17 of the anime.

The Duel between Ghost and Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh! Volume 23, Duel 201 (eng. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Volume 16, Duel 142), although fleshed out to almost the entirety of Episode 79 of anime in order to showcase Bakura's Occult Deck, only lasts a single panel in the manga.

You mean Death-T onward? There's nothing much to tell, really. I could probably list them off the top of my head.

The Snake Hair
Graet Mammoth of Goldfire

Stop Defense

That is all

He never uses Golden Demon Elephant, or any of those other cards he used against Bakura in the anime in the confines of the manga.

Ghost Kotsuzuka:
Goosuto Ou - Panpukingu (Pumpking the Ghost King)
Maadaa Saakasu Zonbi (Murder Circus Zombie)
Maadaa Saakasu (Murder Circus)
Yoroimusha Zonbi (Armored Warrior Zombie)
Yoroimusha Zanki (Armored Warrior Zanki)
Doragon Zonbi (Dragon Zombie)
Chi wo Hau Doragon (Crawling Dragon)
Meduusa no Bourei (Medusa Ghost)
Ribingu Deddo no Yobigoe (Call of the Living Dead)
Shubi Fuuji (Stop Defense)

Uh...most of the cards for everything preceeding that are all the same from the manga. (More or less. If you don't count a few cards not used in the anime here and there.) I guess I can list them...but not right now.

Fair enough. Mainly I was interested in cards that were used by Yugi, Jou and Seto before Volume 11. I don't think Bakura used any before Battle City, because of Monster World...

The Monster World tabletop role-playing game (TRPG) incident was recast as a OCG/TCG Duel in Yu-Gi-Oh! Episode 13: Evil Spirit of the Ring.

Here, Yugi and friends were turned into OCG/TCG cards instead of TRPG game pieces, while Dark Bakura engaged in a Duel with Yami Yugi using the signature monsters of the various characters as stakes.

Bakura = Change of Heart
Joey = Flame Swordsman
Téa = Magician of Faith
Tristan = Cyber Commander
Yugi = Dark Magician

The Duel is notable because it briefly shows, although never identifies, the Seven-Armed Fiend monster that figures so prominently toward the end of the recent Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters mini-series. In the original Japanese anime, this monster had ATK/666 DEF/666, which was edited to ATK/1000 DEF/1000 in the English version.

This recapitulation of the Monster World incident ends pretty much the same way, the Bakura's spirit rebelling against the Spirit of the Ring enough to turn the tide of the Duel in Yami Yugi's favor.

Uh, no.

The Japanese character name is the original manga is [ ゴースト骨塚 ] = Gōsuto (Ghost) Kotsuzuka, where [ 骨 ] (hone/kotsu) means bone and [ 塚 ] (tsuka/zuka) means mound.

What's confusing here is that the furigana above the kanji are written in miniature hiragana, making it impossible to tell whether the tsu is indeed intended to be read as "tsu" ( こつずか = Kotsuzuka) or intended as a sokuon "doubler" ( こっずか = Kozzuka).

In any case, even if it were a sokuon and not a tsu, the resulting reading would be Kozzuka, not Kozuka, neither of which make no sense at all here.

In addition, Kotsuzuka is a Japanese term used in tile-based games such as mahjongg and dominoes, used to describe a collection of tiles.

The equivalent English term is "the boneyard"... :D

I was talking about the name in the English version. I was unaware of his Japanese name. I appologize.
