View Full Version : Best slave Pokemon combo

I have found the three of the most useful slave pokemon. Slaves are used outside of battle to perform tasks such as cut, swim, fly etc.

The three and the movesets are listed below.

Linoon LV:100
Ability - Pick Up
Dig/Strength/Rock Smash/Cut

Tropius
Fly/Flash/Secret Power/Sweet Scent

Wailord
Surf/Dive/Waterfall/-


Those three act as the best slave Pokemon. Hope this helps someone, if anyone has found better slaves tell me. Jan

Those aren't THAT useful..
Useful is something with Surf/Fly/Rock Smash [well it's a lot more used in D/P than in Emerald, but you got the point]/Strength/Flash

Any combination of those.
Surf is just WAY too used, and so is Fly.
Flash and Rock Smash are more limited, but needed.
Strength is, again, I think quite useful in Emerald..

Slave with:
Surf
Dive
Rock Smash
Strength
[Wailord I beleive]
Is extremely useful.
Then you can just add that Flash/Fly/Sweet Scent Tropius.. or something.

Additional Comment:
That Linoone's quite good..

That Tropius isn't very useful..

And that Wailord is wasted.
Waterfall? There are about 4 Waterfalls in this whole game, and they are more for items.. than exploring.
Surf is the second best HM.
Dive is quite useful.

I mean, for using ALL the Hms, then yeah, go ahead, but for using the smallest amount of Pokemons you can and have only the useful HMs, then this is quite unuseful.

I would go with, for all HMs:

Tropius:
Flash
Fly
Strength
Cut

Wailord:
Surf
Dive
Rock Smash
Waterfall

Which, excluding the not HMs, is the best combination I can see here.

Other good mentions are:
Flygon - Dig/Secret Power/Strength/Rock Smash/Fly
Wailrod - Surf/Waterfall/Rock Smash/Strength/Dive

Overall I like Zig mostly because it not only is a decent HM slave but also has pickup. Zig imo is one of the best utility pokemon in the game.
Got Zigs?
As far as a pure HM slave, the ones mentioned all work. Any pokemon that can have all four slots filled by diff HMs has to qualify.

What a waste of legendaries! I would rather use:

Rock Smash

By the way, I use my Linoone in battles. It has decent Speed and HP so it suits as an annoyer. Besides, I'm waiting for my 2nd Pickuped TM 26.

They are extremely useful in battles. I say thet because I have never lost a match, ingame or link battles while using them.

You honestly need to chill out. He can use what he wants. Besides, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and you don't have to go around jamming your annoying and rude remarks down innocent people's throats.

But back to the topic at hand... Yes, Tropius, Wailord, and Linoone are excellent for this type of thing. I've remembered quite a few times where I couldn't find my pokemon with Secret Power...

Actually, I don't care if he uses them. [As long as it's not against me]
I DO care if he throws out stupid lines like 'Yeah they are good and it's waste, I have never lost a match with them'.
Guess why? Because they are UBERS.

Seriously? Ubers with base stats of 600 are good?
Pokemons with crazy attack powers and no drawbacks are good?
Really? What a SURPRISE.

And now that we are mentioning the topic's point..
The best set is probably what Jan recomended..
But I see no reason for Pick Up unless it's for TM26, or for useless stuff like Sweet Scent/Power/Waterfall/Whatever.

Sweet Scent{my opnion} is actually very good to find rare pokemon like Latios/Latias.

Also, who says anything about crazy attacks? I never seen my Rayquaza use crazy attacks?

Lets not start a flame war guys, on topic Jan's ideas are best, but it could depend on where you are going. Like through the Elite 4, of course you need Surf and Waterfall so you bring them.

lol ya i usually start out with a linoone in game as a hm slave, and a stabbed strength isnt that bad comin from a linoone. i used mine all the way to the elite 4 xD

I tried sweet scent to get Latios...it didn't work. Probably hopping around randomly on an Acro Bike using Max Repel might work. By the way, BreakersRevenge, I apologize for my comment no.6. No offense meant.

Also, some Legendaries DO have crazy attacks.
I can't really think of any in the third generation, but attacks
like Hiidoran's magma storm and Darkai Dark Hall.
